Highlight of the show for me was there was no McFlyDay! That goes to show how much I cared about the birthday show!

Kidding aside, I did enjoy it (listened to the first 2 hours as I was in work but watched the rest of it on the red button when I got home. It was better than most Friday shows because there was no Golden Hour but wasn't outstanding either. I think I preferred last year's though (only other one I listened to since I only started listening in July 09) but I think most of his birthday shows are in the archives so should listen to them in the future. Tuesday is going to be strange now in that it is his actual birthday but will just end up being a regular show (something might happen). Brent Domino reminds me of someone but I just can't put my finger on who it is.

I enjoyed it up until JLS started singing, then that did it for me.Not quite as good as last years, though Sooty & Sweep were definitely the highlight.

On a similar theme, this morning i had to hold my nose & go & buy two tickets for JLS' gig in Belfast for my daughters 12th birthday present.
I feel unwashed. :?

I'm sure they are all lovely fellas but i'm not exactly in their target audience's age, sex or taste. :D

Yeah, I'd agree with that :P Their jingle singing wasn't that bad though.

Me neither, but still! They were brilliant on the show a couple of months ago when they did the Duck Register - it was excellent.

Nope. For whatever comically stupid reason, the geniuses at the BBC have decided we can't have full recordings of what's broadcast online or on TV. If only they had some kind of Interactive Player where we could watch them again.

I used to capture all these videos, but I lost interest a while ago. I'm surprised no-one else recorded them, but there you go.

Completely agree with you on that one. Live stream stuff is only shown once; if you miss it, tough, unless you record it yourself. Stupid really.

The site was mentioned on this morning show in reference to the birthday show.

My bugbear is that these things are really badly promoted. I listen to every show all the way though and the only notification I got that anything would be on TV is Aled's cryptic "be by your TV". I was sitting there thinking "are they going to wheel him onto BBC breakfast or something?". Even building up to the live broadcasts online, there's rarely been any notification, certainly on air. I wouldn't mind if these things were available to catch up online, but they're not, for some BBC BS reason, I imagine. Some more on-the-air discussion of future events/guests would be nice. I don't think Heston Blumenthal was mentioned on the air until the morning of the show, as are quite a few guests I've noticed. Even looking at the Twitter page, a lot of guests are only first mentioned on the day.

Aled, do you or the BBC have the video of the entire birthday show from the other day that could be posted online?
