The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Hi I’m new to the forum, I listen to the full show each day at work through iplayer.

I think poor Dave is genuinely upset and regrets the photo shoot, it seems he was getting bullied quite badly today when the team showed him all the places the cardboard cut out Dave had been. Like he said, he has a professional relationship with most of the celebs mentioned and it was a bit harsh what they did.
he seemed quite upset when reading today’s tedious link right after the cardboard cut out link. thoughts?

this. dave knew what he was in for, and would have got paid a fair bit for doing the shoot. if he was worried about his 'professional relationships' then he wouldn't have done it in the first place. he's capitalised from the fame which the show has brought him - and the only way he can continue to capitalise on it, is if he continues to be an integral part of it : as he has continued to be with the photoshoot.

can't have it both ways.

No way did he think he was being bullied. if he did then Chris would realise and he would stop the feature immediately. The 'banter' goes both ways on this show and Dave knew exactly what he was letting himself in for when he did the shoot and that was probably part of the reason he did it - for show material.

Dave is fine with it. He can handle a bit of piss-taking, and he surely knew he would get plenty.

It's because of people like you that I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who tries to entertain nowadays, especially on the BBC. How can they be expected to be funny and entertaining when people like yourself construe that this morning as bullying? It was nothing of the sort.

I cant believe the thought even entered your head. Are you a regular listener of the show?

Its also people like this who dilute attention to the plight of people who really are being bullied. Its no wonder its often not taken seriously when people insist on trivialising the real problem like this. If you are concerned about bullying, then argue the cause of people who are genuine victims, don't muddy the waters for the true sufferers by insisting that things like what we heard this morning are serious matters.

Of course it wasn't bullying. What a preposterous suggestion.

I'm sure the people starving around the world - and who will have benifited from the extra money rolling in thanks to Dave getting more people's attention online - are really worried about this 'issue'. It's all very well timed for charity, why not point that out? Nah, go and talk shite with Littlejohn in the canteen or something.

Well, would you after that reception?

All the same, banter of that kind is standard on the show, and it's not normally aimed at Dave, I'm sure he didn't take it seriously, nor should he have.

Dave is not as daft as he lets on and would have been fully aware of what he was letting himself in for. He knew what was coming, but still has to play the part. If it was a a photo of him looking terrible it would be different and treated as such, but its not, its him looking the best he's potentially ever looked! Why wouldn't he relish every moment of this?!

Personally I feel you're over-reacting a little. But you're entitled to your opinion. At some point ALL of the team members have been made fun of at some point or another for something they did, either on or off the show (except probably Tina but she hasn't been on that long compared to the others).

They used to tease Tina about the supposedly imaginary boyfriend, but they've stopped doing that lately. Just rip the piss out of her singing now!
