Maybe a thread for us too convay our suggestions too aled to pass on too chris as i am sure chris has asked us for suggestions... (i was half asleep when the announcement was made.) Suggestions for how too help him suvive the 37 hours. Features he maybe able too bring back if he is looking for features. and guests we may like too see and if aled or the team could perswade too help out. Like jimmy carr said this morning he would like too help chris out.


I would suggest too chris that him and the team doing a mock up at his house or do the practie in a empty studio.. say on friday and stay awake until after the request show on saturday... maybe ask for the surgury doctor too come along on the night and can see what chris can do differently too survive the 37 hours...
I would guess that this is mind management more than anything. If they know that they an stay awake for 37 hours. Maybe that would be a phyologial thing for them.

Viaduct! (I had to be the first to say that.) I dunno, night time radio is a whole different proposition to breakfast, so I would like to hear them doing some more chilled out features, but I'm not sure exactly what. I'll have to have a think about it.

Precisely the same thought that came into my head when I saw this thread...would be good to bring a few of the old features back (especially overnight when it's likely to be the 'hardcore' fans listening).

I thought Aled said they had to sick to the format of the other shows they will be in, so they couldn't introduce new features.. I might have got that wrong though.

I would imagine if that was the case. that some bending of the rules will be taking place.

For example. Would Jimmy Carr come in as a guest at 10pm when nick grimshaw would be on if chris wasn't there.

well the press release does give a schedule....the 9-10pm and 12-2am slots seem to be specific Chris & Dave shows so these might be the chance to get some different/old features in.

I think Chris was a big fan of theirs as his early breakfast show was on before their breakfast slot (gosh thats showing my age as that must have been in 96/97?). He used to record silly songs for them which they ignored

Good idea this, I've looked into it a bit further...

Most people here will be aware of (Dave's mate ) Cousin Brucie, the US dj who's occasionally been featured on the show for a good few years now. Well, Cousin Brucie does a show live on Sirius radio between 5pm and 9pm US Eastern time but only a Wednesday (lucky coincidence!), which on Wednesday March 16th will be 9pm till 1am our time (USA on Daylight Saving Time from March 13th, so only 4 hours behind us instead of usual -5). So, at least in theory, it's entirely possible that they could have a live link up chat with ol' Brucie during the last hour of his show/first hour of Chris and Dave's overnight slot!

If Aled is reading this, maybe you could run this idea past Chris and see if he likes it? And keep it a secret from Dave. It'd fill a bit of time at least...

(PS. With ideas and research like this, I'm almost putting Fincham out of a job! )

No, that was Longman who went to Florida to be a personal trainer and fell out with Chris and Dave fairly big time (possibly because he didn't invite them to his wedding, although there's probably a lot more to it than that). He registered on here and made a few posts, trying to get back in with them but when it was obviously not going to help him he gave up. I would guess he is probably not going to feature.
