He talks in one of his books about how he never liked football growing up and when that changed, but I can't really remember what the circumstances were.

Just checked in his book. Its on page 52 and 53 of the first one. And he says that just cause he was from Leeds everyone presumed he supported Leeds and then he started getting various invites to matches from people who worked in the record industry so he went along to a few and loved it

if thats the clip i think it is. Wasn't that the gag from the england vs argentina world cup match in 2002.
They got scott (who was covering for sara on breakfast.) too pre record a link saying that chris' threat too get drunk while watching the match has happened. And they got scott in at short notice.
Chris then came on mic after two records acting drunk. In which we had dave and greyhead restraining chris before going to another record.
I know the next bit isn't in the sound vault. But didn't they then go back on air and explain the gag. (i'm sure johnny can confirm the gag or if the show's in his archive.)

Dave, I think appeared hungover/drunk more often than Chris would. Hard to imagine these two were party animals back in the day.

Wireman, it's this clip here, where he's acting drunk, it's funny as well

So was it just a gag or not? And if it wasn't how did he not get sacked for that?

It's a sketch, if he was pissed he would have been sacked.

Re "Ryan, you're very sweet but the original poster here knows perfectly well what happened with Chris and Sophie, he was just trying to get a mention on the show. People often come on here thinking that Chris and the team check the pages regularly (which they might do I suppose, but I'd say its probably more occasional than regular) - he's just trying to piss Chris off."

Hi! Original poster here. I do apologise for having a job that means that I can only listen to the show when I am in the car. Obviously if I was a proper listener I would sit on my arse all day from 6:30 to 10:00 and make notes on everything. Oh, and never go on holiday.
Look, I listen as much as I can, but that might only be half an hour a day on the way to work. I get the podcast every week for the best part of a year, but it was never mentioned there either.
Thanks for being such a caring community of listeners that you can only respond to a genuine question from a genuine listener with sarcasm and abuse.
Yes, you can be ashamed of yourselves. Yes, I will accept any apologies that you care to tender.

I love this bloke. Please stick around.

And also it is a fan site for a reason. You can't exactly moan at us for listening to the whole show every day.

stop, stop, stop.

can we just clarify one really important thing - at the time of the thread being created, NO on-air mention was made of the split, and only in the last few weeks has chris admitted on air that he is single.

CRITICISM STANDS.

you misunderstand. we only found out through means other than listening to the show. it was something that could have been googled easily.

the fact that it wasn't mentioned on air, means that your 'not listening to every minute of the show' was an irrelevance.

I seem to be unable to fix his crazy quotes with my newfound moderator powers. Maybe I've forgotten how to do it myself...?
