Keith Chegwin is a lovely, lovely man but as irritating as hell on the radio.

What Yudster said. I have friends who have a very personal experience of Keith Chegwin being one of the nicest blokes (a story I've told a couple of times on here before), but I don't want him on the show.

I saw this too, does the 'temporary' mean that Dave after all is taking some time out for the DOI tour?

Yeah it does mean that. But its just for a week. And i doubt its Coxy as she sounded genuinely surprised when Dave brought the subject up on her show on Sunday

It's not going to be Chappers, but oh man, how great would that be.

Carrie would be the obvious choice, but I can't see what she would do with Tina being there. I suspect it's going to be someone to take Dave's spot during the tour even though he said he was going to be doing both a while back.

I gotta a bad felling about this...

Best case scenario, it'll be Sara Cox. Worst case scenario, it'll be Andy Peters (alright in shorts blast, but a week...), Cheggers (he's been officially 'rested' from the show for some time now though, so I'd have thought him an unlikely choice) or Davina McCall (a whole week of her, jeez, that'll grate. She might tone her embarrassing/annoying act down a bit if she's on for a full week though, which could be more palatable).

I strongly feel that Davina McCall will be the less than satisfactory replacement.

I would expect it to be someone close to the show, I would say that cheggers has been done, so i doubt they'd go back there, I mean I like cheggers so it would be fine if it was him, but I don't think he'd be high on the list. Davina and Sara clearly love the show but I cant see them doing it for a week... which is why I'd throw in the following as a shout

James Corden- If he hadn't just had a child, i think he'd be a very decent shout
Alan Carr- Been on the show a lot, would he want to do it I don't know
Jimmy Carr- Probably unlikely, but he is a workaholic and has been on the show a number of times
Michael Mcintyre- Outside choice, but i just think it will be someone current, in the world of comedy and someone thats been on the show and got on with them!

Id be very surprised if they go with one of the usual suspects or an old team member! We'll find out i guess!

He's not doing BGT currently. Auditions finished a while back, although my sister did receive an email saying they are refilming the Birmingham auditions, something to do with Amanda's bump i think
