What is Chris' obsession with Olly and why is he constantly on the show . On the tour . on the marathon and now on for a week!

is his PR people getting desperate and clinging on to any good press that will take him or something ?

I hope after this week we dont get him on until his next album plug is needed (which if its Xfactor PR people will be friggin' June)

If I had to take a guess why Olly, it'd be based on:

a) he is current
b) lets be honest, he probably wasn't busy this week
c) he has recently been on the show and they got on

I can't see it going any deeper than that! They needed someone to fill in for Dave for a week, so why not Olly?! Sure, he wouldn't be my first choice (Coxy), but why would that matter?! If Chris n team like him, if he is target reference and if he is free this week - criteria filled.

I thought he fit in well without becoming too much of a 'guest'. There was a lot of attention to him, eg. in the jingles, but it's all funny and why not? He's a well-liked artist who has a good relationship with the show. I'm not a fan of his stuff, but it could have been someone a lot, lot worst!

I turned off after 45 minutes. The not unexpected disappointment of Murs soured Chris' return for me a bit. I wasn't even smiling as the show began, which is a first for me, because i pretty much knew what to expect & then the 'Cor blimey me ol' c ock sparrer' c ockney shit finished me off. That and Lady fu*king Gaga. Music before 7? WTF!

I listened until after 8:30 or so then switched off. Was pretty boring to be honest. Now I have nothing against Olly now but would like it if Dave was there. Sure he has his haters but I enjoy Dave's stupidity etc and hearing his laugh is always a highlight. Hopefully, the rest of the week is an improvement.

When was the last time a song was played before 7 outside of the marathon show?

I think Olly did pretty well to be honest. I think he understood his role and didnt try too hard to impress, but it wasnt as good a show without Dave. Sara Cox would have been better, but maybe she couldnt do it. I would like to think they asked her though.

And I hope this playing a record before 07:00 thing doesnt continue. I have a feelin it will though

Yes, I think so but I prefer chat right up to the news then play a couple of songs. That works well for me.

That's my problem with him being on the show for this week, for a celebrity guest, he's already been on the show enough before being on every day for a week, he was on for over 2 hours on the marathon show FFS . I thought the show today was pretty dull, and I'm not sure how much of that was just due to being the first for 2 weeks. I don't think they really needed a replacement for Dave and to crowbar one in for a week just knocks the show sideways IMO. Even the most entertaining guests would start to grate after being on for too long.
