Moon, first name Alfie, is the 'Eastenders' character played by Shane Richie. Shane Richie shares the same first name as Shane Warne, who plays cricket for Australia. 'Australia' was a hit for the Manic Street Preachers, who are fronted by James Dean Bradfield. If you remove the last part of James Dean Bradfield you're left with James Dean, who's an iconic film star whose image is on loads of posters, a bit like Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe starred in 'The Seven Year Itch', and itch is what you'd be forced to do if you had a mosquito bite. 'Bite' rhymes with 'kite', which is something you might fly in the park. The La's featured bass player Lee Mavers, whose name sounds a bit like Lee Majors, who played Colt Seavers in 'The Fall Guy', who was a part-time bounty hunter. A bounty hunter is someone who tracks down somebody for a pre-arranged fee. 'Fee fi fo fum' is a famous line from 'Jack And The Beanstalk', which is often performed as a pantomime at Christmas. 'Christmas time, Mistletoe and Wine' was sung by Cliff Richard, who shares the same first name as Cliff Thorburn. Cliff Thorburn has a moustache, and in that respect shares something in common with Tom Selleck, who starred as Magnum, PI. Magnum, PI lived in Hawaii, and was mates with an English fellow who kept Dobermans. If you remove the first and last letter from 'Dobermans' you get 'Oberman', as in Tracy-Ann Oberman who plays Chrissie Watts in 'Eastenders'. Mud is what you wouldn't want to see if you were at Glastonbury, which is not taking place this summer, along with the Olympics. The Olympics was first staged in Athens, which is the capital of Greece. Greece invented the kebab, which is something you might have for your tea tonight. 'Tonight I Celebrate My Love' was a hit for Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack. Flak is something you might avoid by wearing a special jacket. A jacket is what you'd have to wear if you were working in a cold dark basement. Basement Jaxx include a fella called Felix, although there's another Felix in the world of music, which links to Felix and 'Don't You Want Me'.

Some texters claimed that the first Olympic games actually took place at Olympia, but Dave dismissed this correction on the grounds that he didn't know where Olympia is. 'I'll Be Missing You' was recorded as a tribute to Notorious B.I.G., and featured a sample from 'Every Breath You Take' by The Police, featuring Sting. A sting is what you'd be used to getting if you worked as a beekeeper, who often make their own honey. 'Honey To The B' was a hit for Billie Piper, who now stars as Rose Tyler in 'Doctor Who'. Dr Who is played by David Tennant, but was previously played by Christopher Eccleston, who starred in 'Our Friends In The North' with Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig shares one name in common with Craig David, who's from Southampton. Southampton is where the One Night With Laura tour started, and no doubt there was a queue of suitors lining up for Laura and her big brown eyes, which links to Van Morrison and 'Brown Eyed Girl'.

Bulls are used by farmers in countries which are too poor to have tractors. If you add 'P', 'R' and 'O' to the front of 'tractor' you get 'protractor', which is something you might have in your maths set at school. 'School's Out'was a number one for Alice Cooper, who shares the same first name as Alice Beer from 'Watchdog'. A watchdog is something you might have outside your house if you live in the country and are worried about burglars. Burglars tend to wear gloves, as do skiers, who also wear woolly hats. Reg Presley wrote the Wet Wet Wet hit 'Love Is All Around', taken from the soundtrack to the film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' starred Hugh Grant, who was also in 'About A Boy', the soundtrack to which was by Badly Drawn Boy, who's famous for wearing a tea-cosy-type hat on his head. 'Head Jam' was the title of a TV programme hosted by Vernon Kay. Vernon Kay shares the same surname as Gorden Kaye, who played Rene in 'Allo Allo'. "Allo allo" is what French people say when they answer the telephone. The band Steps featured H, which is the letter that represents hydrogen. Hydrogen is the gas that was used to inflate the Hindenburg airship, which is why it exploded in disaster. Disaster movies were big in the 70s, one of the best being 'The Poseidon Adventure', which is being remade starring Kurt Russell. Kurt Russell is the partnet of Goldie Hawn, who is the mother of kate Hudson, who's married to Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes. The Black Crowes had a hit with 'Remedy', which is what you'd need if you were sick. Sick is a word associated with parrots. 'Parrots' rhymes with 'carrots', which help you see in the dark. Dark is how you'd describe the sky at night, which is when it's easier to see lightning, which links to The Lightning Seeds and 'Pure'.

Flaws:

Texters questioned Dave's assertion regarding the cause of the Hindenburg disaster, and in fact the actual cause of the fire remains unknown, although there are theories of sabotage, lightning and static electricity. Most current analysis of the fire assumes ignition due to some form of electricity as the cause, but there is still much controversy over whether the fabric skin of the airship, or the hydrogen used for buoyancy, was the initial fuel for the resulting fire.

Wool is a good material to use when knitting. Knitting is a favourite pastime of Kelis, who also likes to drink milkshakes. Milkshakes come in different flavours, such as strawberry and chocolate. 'Chocolate' was a hit for Snow Patrol, who'll be performing at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee. Dundee is famous for making cakes. A slice of cake goes well with a nice cup of tea. Tea was first introduced to the UK by Sir Walter Raleigh, who I think also introduced potatoes and tobacco. Tobacco is bad for you and if you smoke the best advice I could give to you is "give it Up", which links to The Goodmen and 'Give It Up'.

Walter Raleigh has been credited with bringing potatoes and tobacco back to Britain, but both of these were in fact already known via the Spanish, although Raleigh did help to make smoking popular at court.

A hood is what the Americans call the bonnet of a car. Cars is what you would work on if you were a mechanic. A mechanic is what Charlene was in 'Neighbours'. If you go back one year from 1990 you get to 1989, which was the year that 'Sowing The Seeds Of Love' was a hit for Tears For Fears. Tears For Fears were made up of Kurt Smith and Roland Orzabel. Pulp is a sort of soft mush that you get in fruit. Fruitbat was one half of Carter USM. Carter, first name Lynda, was the actress who played Wonderwoman in the 1970s series. Wonderwoman wore blue shorts with white stars. 'Stars' was an album by Simply Red, who are fronted by Mick Hucknall. Hucknall is the name of a town in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire is also where you'd find Sherwood Forest, which is where Robin Hood used to hang out. Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor. 'Poor Misguided Fool' was a hit for Starsailor, who are from Wigan. If you swap the 'I' in 'Wigan' for an 'O' you get 'Wogan', as in Terry Wogan, who's interviewed Richard Briers, who starred in 'The Good Life', which links to Inner City and 'Good Life'.

George Clooney shares the same first name as George Cole, who played Arfur Daley in 'Minder'. The theme tune to 'Minder' was written and sung by Dennis Waterman, who used to be married to Rula Lenska, who was in 'Celebrity Big Brother' with Pete Burns from Dead Or Alive. Dead Or Alive's 'You Spin Me Round' was produced by Stock Aitken Waterman. Pete Waterman likes trains. Trains are a good way of getting around if you can't drive and don't like flying. 'Flying' was a hit for Cast, who had many other hits including 'Beat Mama' in 1999, and when you think of 1999 in the context of classic records you think of Prince, which links to Prince and '1999'.
