Not been any since the record breaking show, any reason why?

Probably because there aren't any left that haven't been on during the marathon show

They probably wanted the show to settle down a bit after all the build up to the Marathon show, then the show itself followed by a two week break, the week with Ollie Murs and now the week in Carlisle.

I have a feeling they would have liked a guest or two in- Adele was mentioned- but they deliberately haven't tried for too many guests. I am happy with that anyway. A guest or two perks things up a bit, but too many is overkill.

I like the normal, routine shows.

I reckon Natasha Bedingfield might want to pay a visit:

Oh God, Natasha Bedingfield would be dull as ditchwater. It had occured to me that there hadn't been any guests in for a while, but I quite like it that way too. You get more random conversations between the team when there are no guests to force a structure on the show.

I've enough to be going along with for now as I haven't listened to half the marathon interviews.

Yeah I think they had a ton of guests during the marathon show and so they left a few weeks 'empty' just to give it a bit of a rest before the Big Weekend.

Its the wrong time of year. No one has anything to sell right now, so no massive guest pressure.

That's like saying Vernon was a guest today tho - other radio 1 DJs don't really count.

They mentioned on Wednesday that Olly Murs is going to try and pop in next week

Yeah, I suppose that has some part to play with it as well. For example in the run up to Christmas there was a ton of guests.

yes :) Not sure of the date yet though

Just seen Matt Smith has been on with Greg by the looks of it. Ah well.

I think it's also as they've got the Big Weekend competition to concentrate on, build up next week, then reflect the week after

I miss the days of radio/tv interviews where celebrities didn't just go on shows to plug stuff.

I quite enjoyed the interview with Cheryl this morning. She seems to have developed a bit more of a personality since the last time she was on. Or maybe Chris just brings her out of her shell more that Sara and Dave managed to.

But she has been media trained to within an inch of her life though. She just puts on too much of an act for me and I thought the way she handled the Cowell question was poor.

I agree. She really seemed to just dodge it. I was hoping for her to just tell the truth about everything concerning Simon Cowell there. Probably just wishful thinking...

Yeah...true. I guess she didn't have many choices other than just saying "no comment".

That's never going to happen - people like that are always going to dodge difficult questions. I did quite enjoy it where I thought I wouldn't at all, it was a pleasant surprise.

When she said she likes the Chris Brown song, I was itching for someone to say something about them having similar interests, what with beating people up and all, but clearly that'd never ever happen.
