Was this to do with the new Collins dictionary coming out? Apparently it also contains "McJob" as a real word!!

Well they're not going to like Collins either then as they've put in the same definition I think and their dictionary comes out in June. There's also a rumour about McMansion!

Are they suggesting Kyoto and Sangatte didn't exisit before 1997?

Possibly, you been watching balderdash and piffle? If they're not in official written documents prior to that time then the dictionaries don't acknowledge them as real words, stupid bloody rule!

I'm pretty sure both places existed before 1997 and were written down....

Ah but I think in this context they may have a different meaning than just a place name, think it's beacuse that's where some climate change treaty was signed and it's now a document that's refered to rather than just a place. Still a stupid rule!!

Is Darfur a new place then? And where is Bouncebackability?!

The man who supposedly first said that phrase is currently on my telly. Keep your kids away from Sky Sports 1.

And what does "Boujis" mean? And "Diversity" has been a watchword of the conservation industry since 1981. Seems other people have only been using it more recently.

Isn't Boujis the nightclub that Prince Harry and William and that Kate Middleton bint go to?

The trouble and beauty of language is that it changes so much, words mean different things now and are used in different contexts so they have double meanings without being double entendres which is a shame as, to my mind, you can't have enough double entendres!

Someone punched '100 names' into google and decided to bother us! Guess they've been edited out though....

Yep, a spammer bumped it up and people replied to it before the spam post had been deleted, so here it is. I do actually find that list quite interesting tho - especially the words that have disappeared as quickly as they appeared. (Who remembers 'Blair's babes'?!)
