The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Chris mentioned this morning that he didn't think he was in line for a Sony Award this year... he's got Bronze for Music Radio Personality of the Year!

Some honorary friends of the show from the marathon broadcast have got awards too:

MistaJam's picked up Bronze for best music broadcaster (after Mark Radcliffe and Zane Lowe) and Silver for Best Specialist Music programme, and the legend that is Annie Nightingale has got a Special Award. Simon Mayo got Gold for best music show.

And Colin Murray's 5 Live show Fighting Talk got best sports programme.

There is a story in the Metro this morning about how he was "snubbed".

And Ronnie Wood won the music radio personality.

Still funny how these "journalists" use old photos, I'm guessing this one could probably be 9 years old or so.

Sports programme?!

Blimey. I do like fighting talk, but I would put it in the panel quiz / comedy section, not sport.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling opsimath and eremite, feudal still, reactionary.....

One of the most popular winners on the night was BBC London 94.9’s and 5 live’s Danny Baker, who became Speech Radio Personality of the Year, for being “A true original. A personality who’s found new and innovative ways to use the techniques of radio, whether he’s delivering a unique verbal barrage or creating an endless stream of compelling ideas….”

Which I suspect would be a huge embarrassment :)

Well done Candyman the best thing on a weekday afternoon by a mile, well deserved and he he is damn 'true original' something mills on at the same time can only dream about, too me he is a radio god. As for Chris moaning about coming third to Ronny Wood and Frank Skinner, rather them than Fearne and Reggie, if that ever happens is the day radio dies screaming !!!!!

Actually Danny Baker (aka The Candyman) did this first on his show (and still does), Chris (a good friend of Danny's) 'borrowed' it from him :D

:)

When I moved house recently, I needed to put some stuff in storage. There was a choice of Big Yellow Storage, or Storage King.

I went with Storage King because it reminded me of Plow King :)

Are Chris Evans and Danny Baker still friends? I have a vague memory of a massive bust up between them some time back? I might have imagined it of course.

There was mention of him visiting DB in hospital while he was having his cancer treatment, I think they're still friends.

Was that not Mr Plow? "Mr Plow, that's my name...that name again is Mr Plow." There was Internet King, that Bill Gates (celebrity voices impersonated) bought from him?

Yes, excellent stuff, very, very funny, kept them all on my PC (also the sports stuff he did with Danny Kelly). Shame about how all ended with Danny not getting paid and and getting ripped off, its something I think he never talks about considering the way it ended, shame it was fantastic stuff :D

Also as far as I'm aware Danny and Chris Evans never fell out over anything they have always been the best of friends.

What a guy, love him or hate him you gotta say Chris Evans, a true friend for his friends in need. Well Done Candyman, you did win, as if they would ever be another outcome, and another quality show this afternoon in the Treehouse !!!! :D

I saw that Danny Baker tweet yesterday. Probably one of the best tweets I've ever read. His show on 5 Live on Saturday mornings is just great, I highly recommend downloading the podcast or listening to it.

Sat and today are up
