So who's heard of this site? Basically people take covert photos with their phones of attractive men they've spotted on the London Underground and upload them to the site. Highly dubious, but a lot of the reports I've seen seem to take a "well it's just a bit of fun" angle. Any opinions...?

You mean for straight men? When I looked at the names of those submitting pics, there seemed to be more men than women.

That was kinda my issue with it - if the site was men uploading pics of women, people would be horrified. But cos it's pics of men, nobody seems to really object. I don't know whether men feel objectified and violated by it in the same way some women would - do they?

No, they'd be arrested and probably beaten to death in jail as sex-offenders.

I'd imagine most men would be quite pleased to be objectified (and an equal number would enjoy being violated).

I used to work on a tarmac gang (back in the days before all over protective gear needed to be worn), and during the summer me and the rest of the lads would be pretty much hounded by the ladies who lunch making it quite clear that they approved of us taking our shirts off.

We loved it.

I'd think that when the women get caught, they probably get embarrassed and coy. There's little threat from ladies perving over men. There's a lot more implied threat from men perving over ladies.

Wow, another website for me not to visit....

I must be not right in the head mind you, my first thought was it was some weird website that showed people getting crushed either in the tube doors or the tube train itself.

The whole objectification thing isn't the same for men and women primarily because its extremely rare for women to sexually abuse and rape men, but its not particularly rare (relatively speaking) for men to sexually abuse women. And no, I'm definitely NOT saying that perving over women is abuse, or that men who do it are a step away from being abusers, but a stupid percentage of women will at some point be affected by sexual abuse in their lives, so attention from men which feels sexual in origin is bound to cause more discomfort for women than it does for men.

That said, I'm not in favour of censorship and for me the answer to how to help women feel safer in situations where they perhaps currently feel anxious is to improve the way sex crime is handled so that the blame for it is put in the right place, with abusive men, not simply horny men. Then maybe more women could enjoy being appreciated in that way just like Wykey clearly did! Or at least not be oppressed by it.

I think. Its so complicated, I keep changing my mind about what I think.......

Seen it, it's weird, but I like it. I like weird. End of the day, it's a compliment really. But weird.

I reckon that women perve over men just as much as men on women. And a large number of women like being perved at by men. Just go look at any night club at kicking out time for proof of this.

This is the thing - sometimes they do. But it's all about feeling in control of the situation. If you deliberately go out dressed in a short skirt and/or low cut top, or send out saucy photos of yourself (heaven forfend), then you're in control of what attention you're receiving and when. But if someone takes a covert photo of you and posts it on a website without your knowledge, you have no control over it, and that can be scary.
