Yeah, it is weird. I don't know how to explain it either - altho I'm not at my most eloquent on a Monday morning anyway!
I'm too old and cynical to believe that she represents me better than anyone else, but for a young market, she's a great representation of feminism and strength. She makes art and music on her own terms and she's not trying too hard to be sexy like almost all other young female performers. She's at the bleeding edge of fashion whether it's attractive to men or not - I really respect that. Occasionally when I hear Born This Way it even feels like it's speaking to me - what other pop songs are giving a message of support to LGBT, racially diverse and disabled people? None that I can think of.
