On another note, sad to see Blackpool go down. Far more entertaining that half the English Premier League. But defensive football is king these days (with the odd exception) and Blackpool defensively were pretty poor.

Bye Bye Birmingham :D

Bye Bye Blackpool

I wanted Wolves & Blackpool to survive today & wanted Birmingham down, had no problem with Wigan really, however glad at least one of those two stayed up & glad Birmingham are down. Just a shame Blackpool had to go down in the end (thanks United for that :x)

Next year Stoke down for me please, nasty set of fans most of them, and shit football all round.

Same here, although I have no cross to bare with Wigan, just that they spent so much of the year down there whilst Blackpool started off fairly well & at one point looked as though they were going to stay for a second year.

Glad Wolves stayed up though if only for Big Mick's hilariously frank post match interviews, I also liked Holloway for his as well, can't say the same about McLeish & Pulis though, still I got one of my three down this year (those been Birmingham, Stoke & Blackburn), of those coming up, I hope both stay up, same for whoever wins out of Swansea-Reading, although I'm more for Swansea than Reading coming up :)

Even if the clubs are made to behave, the fans can only be "controlled" whilst at matches. You can stop them singing certain songs in the stadium, but the hatred is still there when they get outside. Unless there is a way of enforcing a complete separation of any football related activity with an expression of sectarian opinion, you surely can't stop the problem completely?

Give them, the fans, via the two clubs, a deadline of say six months. If the violence doesn't stop, both clubs are banned from playing the game.

Or just ban the fans and make both clubs play behind closed doors. Or even relegate the clubs to the bottom league

I thought about that, but that wouldn't stop the violence.

Oh, if they can't get along, Rangers and Celtic should have to switch tops. Rangers in green and white and Celtic in blue. It's only a game after all...

Yes it is only a game - it really is.

I wanted Wolves and Blackpool to stay up, but you can't blame Man U for doing what they do. To do anything else would have been manipulative of the situation to the point of cheating. I'm glad Birmingham went down and a little gutted really about West Ham, only because they were my dad's club so I kind of grew up following them to an extent.

Anyway, none of it is anything LIKE as exciting or interesting as a dull, boring, under-achieving and safe mid-table finish in League 1, is it...

Are you an Orient supporter then Yuds? They looked as if they were going to make Qualifying at one point although ended up somewhere in the middle

You're right I suppose regarding Man Utd, but did they really need to go all out blazing, they could have been on cruise control for the game, it after all meant nothing to them.

Looking forward to having QPR & Norwich back in the league, I'm hoping to have Swansea up as well to have some "fresh blood" in the league like we did with Blackpool last year :)

Sadly, that would probably get rid of 90% of the morons straight away. I say sadly because that's how petty they are, not because it would be a shame to lose them.

I'm not that petty. I'm Scottish, I like blue, it's on our flag.

Hard to tell, a lot of Essex is the same, I try to keep out of it for fear of catching something

In what way? I think its pretty diverse. You've got south Essex which is very urban, and has all the issues and problems that any urban industrialised area has, then mid Essex which is pretty grim as its suburban and therefore nothingy, but pretty inoffensive. There's West Essex which is posh in a kind of tacky Snooker Player With Lots Of Money way, and North West Essex which is a bit classier. East Essex and North East Essex (where I am) is quite rural, has a beautiful and historic coastline and what I think is an endearing shabbiness to it - unpretentious would be a polite way to describe it, tatty but ok would perhaps be more accurate! North Essex, along the Suffolk border, is proper posh - no snooker players or footballers ex-wives there, just massive estates and open country dotted with huge houses owned by the same family for generations, you know the kind of thing.

So - which bits are the same?

I like the Thames too, but the QE2 Bridge is one of my favourite things in this country, so I can't pretend to have anything against Kent, seeing as that's where it takes me!

Only joking Yuds ;)

To be fair I live in Ilford (which is technically East London now) and my knowledge of Essex is Loughton, Debden, Barkingside, Romford, Harold Hill, Harold Wood, Clacton, Southend, Jaywick, Basildon & Dagenham so my opinion of Essex is unfairly swayed to one type of it being honest :)
