Pretty sure it was towards the end of the opening link when he was talking about going to see Peter Kay

What time was this (preferably iPlayer timing)?
The /programmes page doesn't give information on it.

Yes, I do get that. I just think its entirely probable that Dave isn't anywhere near so well paid in the first place as people might assume, therefore his level of struggling might be a little more serious than some are allowing for. I know its all relative, but I don't imagine for a minute Dave is earning mega bucks, and even with what ought to be a comfortable income, running two households these days could be crippling. Chris does earn a massive salary (plus telly and other stuff on top) and has only ever had himself to look after, but if he put himself in Dave's shoes - having to move out of the marital home, pay the mortgage and bills for a house he no longer lives in, pay support for the child and get another place to live with rent and associated bills - even he would be grumbling about the cost of it, because it really is significant.
None of the above is a good excuse for considering doing Big Brother though, if that is what he's doing. He should send Nicole up chimneys before he sinks that low.

Yudster wrote:I don't know any of it, but it doesn't matter how much Jayne earns, or is capable of earning - the law as it stands in this country is going to put the onus for paying for the "family home" on him, and he will be obliged to pay child support whatever their respective circumstances. I would hope that Jayne wouldn't be the type to bleed him dry, but if she wanted to, she certainly, legally, could.
Also, Dave has been saying that his outgoings have increased - personally I think that's a pretty fair indication that most of what I have speculated is in the ball park. I'm not suggesting any of it is fact, but given how these things often work (and if you have no experience of how these things work, count yourself lucky) it would be a very commonplace scenario.

I'm not sure its quite that clear cut. Yes you are right about previous thingy, but on this occasion I think Chris was tyring to highlight Daves tightness, not brag about the size of his own wage.
Dave earns enough to be able to get 'a car' home... Chris was highlighting this would prevent the hassle he was subjected to the previous night.
I feel for Dave and his monetary issues at the moment, but he is, and alwasy has been, a tight git!
neilt0 wrote:Dave is notoriously tight. He may not have been paid as much as the bigger "celebs" on Dancing On Ice, but £50,000 is not bad for a few week's work on the DOI tour. That's in addition to the fee for the TV show. http://www.aoltv.co.uk/2011/02/15/danci ... ting-tour/
He's also paid for the radio show, his appearances on other shows like Richard Bacon's, and then there's the fees for the "DJ" set gigs he's doing solo and with Dom. I'm sure it's been mentioned on air how much they were getting, but it was a long time ago. It's in to the thousands per night, from memory.
Now of course, not all of that is money that he gets to keep -- there's tax, fees for agents, travel and accomodation costs, money to be paid to ex. etc. etc.
However, he wouldn't be the first person in the entertainment business to whine about "not having money" when he's earning a * shitload of cash compared to the vast majority of us.
He can afford to take a cab so he doesn't have to wait for trains or buses, but he's too tight. Dom is the same. You'll note that neither of them went in First Class on that train trip to the gig. I'm not saying they are obligated to because they are "celebs", but they could certainly afford it.
I was watching the Queen doc the other day and the drummer (wossisname) was moaning about having to live in Monaco because UK taxes were so high. Boo * hoo.

Are you Dave's accountant to 'know' that he earn's as you put it 'Shitloads of money' ??
Dave and Dom are family men maybe they do not live beyond their means like a lot do.
dreamer1978 wrote:The amount of money you get when you are freelance isnt what you take home. Chris, Dave and Dom will have to pay nearly 50% of what they earn in tax.

What the hell are you talking about? If Dave earns £250,000 or £500,000 in a year, at what point is that not shitloads? Do you earn more than that? And, no I don't believe everything I read, but that number was stated on the show.
