To be fair thought this is the problem, I was going to chose a song that everyone knows a band for but they had three other minor hits after (one got to number 16, the other two in the 20's or 30's), no one remembers them but they were hits.

Like Nic I love those sites with all the facts, I too am disappointed that they don't seem to be updating everyhit.com at the mo, there's soem wonderful little facts on there as well, like today I learned that The Four Tops "Reach Out I'll Be There" was recorded in two takes & the band for about it and had discarded it at one point as "album filler", it went on to be their only number 1 hit.

I think this will qualify: Zero 7 - Destiny

This is their highest charting single, reaching only 30. All their other releases have been outside the top 40.

I absolutely adore this track

Does Eagle-Eye Cherry count? If so I'll have Save Tonight.

Yeah cos that's the first thing everyone thinks of when you mention Cornershop.

I didn't even know that was Cornershop.

Definately not, there was "Falling In Love Again" which got in to the top ten a few months later.

Hmm. Maybe I'm just more aware cos I was a fan - they formed at Preston uni where I was, and I used to see them out and about (first claim to fame before i worked in theatre: standing next to Tjinder Singh at a bar - well, it seemed impressive at the time). They're also particpating in one of the events for Manchester International Festival, which my workplace is the ticket office for. But yeah, like I said, we need a ruling on this 'one hit' business.

I fail to see how we can have links of one hit wonders and not have a link for the lyrical genius that is doop by erm doop on here! Ok by lyrical genius there may only be several takes on one made up word throughout the song.... but I'm not going to lie... I kind of like it!

Doop, doop, doop, doop, dodudup, doop. Been in circulating in my brain for the past ten minutes like a * lyrical carousel. Round and round and round. Aarrggh, where's my whigfield album got to save me from this utter pish that has consumed me.

Surely Steve Brookstein doesn't qualify I mean really I wouldn't know that song if I had it blaring in my ear! a hit really? there's certainly a word I'd use to describe him that contains the word hit! That said I love the site although it has Dance Wiv Me as a 1 hit wonder because it features Chrome... I wouldn't call it a one hit wonder as its a dizzee song? Some interesting stuff on there though!

Against All Odds is a pretty famous song, so even if you don't remember Brookstein's version, you must know the song, surely.

To be honest I didn't by the title, but now i've listened to the phil collins song I know it! Still not sure brookstein counts I mean its not his song... I dont even remember him singing it! I mean god if you want a proper one hit wonder can we at least make it something original and from an artist with talent....

Of course Steve Brockstein counts. And yet again you pick an artist that has had a number of top ten hits. Do you even know the meaning of "one hit wonder"?

Ugh, I'm not playing. Every time I think of someone I'd class as a one-hit wonder I look them up and realise they had more than one. Betty Boo was my first thought with Doin' The Do. But then Where Are You Baby got to #3 whereas Doin' The Do only got to #7!

Mind you, Scatman John's in here with I'm The Scatman and I always preferred Scatman's World!
