That was * for me as well but i guess I'll have to try it again. Get_iplayer only used to take around 15 minutes per show

Everything tbh. Firstly, on Google Chrome when you type anything into the search it never takes you there, but that just about works through IE. Then when you actually run the PVR it just comes up with a bunch of errors and never downloads anything. I even tried a reinstall

Do a refresh or force refresh (the button on the web interface) and then Run PVR. I never do searches, only PVR action.

I haven't missed a show in months, they always work. Today's show is up -- sometimes it can take longer to appear, but today's is up now.

Ignore any errors for stations you don't give a shit about. Are you recording Radio Manchester? No? Then who cares!

But its not actually downloading it as it is going through all theses bloody errors instead.

EDIT: I've clicked the refresh cache and its doing this:

I'm having problems with Radio Downloader now. My first attempt at downloading today's show took over 2 hours to download and convert. And the resulting file has loud clicks in it, with a long section where it's peaking all the time, followed by a really quiet section. I'm trying to download the show again, but it's still really slow, so I'm not optimistic. Maybe I need to try getiPlayer too.

Are you runnning Windows? If so, try following the instrucs I posted: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=22970

Not really no! But at least it did put a smile on face, at a time when I could quite happily throw my computer, complete with GetiPlayer, out the window.

I am running Windows by the way. And I can't run the PVR manager (although it did work before, possibly before I tried adding the archive files). It says "There was a problem sending the command to the program". Although GetiPlayer works. I've run the GetiPlayer setup latest file, and installed everything. I've also downloaded the get_iplayer-a3ab629.tar.gz archive, although I'm not entirely sure where those files need to go. Is it the files that are inside the "get_iplayer-a3ab629" folder that is inside the archive that go into the "Program Files/getiplayer" folder? And if so, where does the "pax_global_header" file go, which is inside the archive, but outside the "get_iplayer-a3ab629" folder?

This is what has always put me off. I'd rather use a program like Radio Downloader and wait a couple of hours, but painless hours, than go through all this complicated stuff. But of RD doesn't seem to be working right now. But then if I'm going to spend 3.5 hours trying to get this working, then maybe I should just play the show live and record it into my sequencer :roll:

Option 2, definitely. Option 1 looks like a chimps been hitting your keyboard.

* Get WinRAR.

* Unpack the tar.gz with WinRAR.

* Copy the files in the unpacked folder in to the same location as the existing files that are in your existing folder (within the "get_iplayer" folder in "Program Files").

* Rename the file "get_iplayer" from this archive to get_iplayer.pl

* Run Web PVR Manager.

That's it.

Yes, it's a bit of a faff to set up, but it's worth it IMO, as it makes show downloads fast and lovely.

ETA: If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll zip up my working directory for you.

Well that was fun. Just took nearly four hours to record the show, because the damn iPlayer stopped three times.

Incidentally I tried doing exactly what you said, but I keep getting the same error when I try to run the Web PVR Manager (see attachments). Any chance you could upload your working folder?
