Can't believe I'm the first poster - did a search to no avail - please move if I'm in the wrong place.
Well, I'm from Bath.
A Bathonian has their own distinctive accent - I am not from Bristol!
Being a Bath resident does not mean that we all live in the Royal Crescent.
Bath is in Somerset, always has been...Avon was a bureacratic fictional area.
When I say I'm in Bath, I'm not in the bath.
Bath is pronounced with a longish "ah" sound, not a short sharp "agh" sound.
Bath is home to Tesco, Sainsbury's & Waitrose (but no Lidl or Aldi )
Bath has some of the dearest car park charges in the country.
Bath has a manic one way system - you can see where you want to be, but you just can't drive there (look at Westgate Buildings to front of Theatre Royal)
