Why on earth not? Surely Twitter is a much more democratic tool than newspapers?

Not at all. In my experience, Facebook is what celebs use for product placement, whereas Twitter is what they use to share with fans as well as their friends what they're actually doing and thinking. Or the good ones do anyway. Read the timeline of someone like Simon Pegg or Peter Serafinowicz and count the number of product plugs against their other tweets - I wouldn't follow them if it was just nonstop book and tour promotion.

Or the good ones do anyway. Read the timeline of someone like Simon Pegg or Peter Serafinowicz and count the number of product plugs against their other tweets - I wouldn't follow them if it was just nonstop book and tour promotion.

Was probably a bit sweeping with that statement as I've only ever flitted in and out of twitter world and I'm sure there are many interesting sorts to follow. My point was primarily directed at the uber idiots with multi-million fool-owers ie charlie sheen, paris hilton, kim kardiganishan(?) Who prattle on about lava embalmed falcons or going out for lunch sporting their gorgeous new gucci purse. Not quite the thing it was set up for.

Allegations involving the Mirror due to surface very soon apparently.

What's going on with this now, I remember the Government saying those involved would be punished, etc. and yet nothing is really happening, anyone know what's going on with this case now, I was hoping Murdoch would have been in the shit big style by now.

The last time it was big news was the other day when James Murdoch appeared before the Culture, Media and Sport committee and Tom Watson accused him of running the mafia. Based on what I heard during that hearing I think investigations are ongoing.

The Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee will report back on their findings in December I believe; the Leveson inquiry is starting and who knows how long that'll take. There are suggestions the police have 300 million News International emails to go through, not to mention the thousands of potential victims to contact - believe me, it's not gone quiet.

James Murdoch is not really in charge though; Rupert is still the man with the final say.
