When did all this become a real big issue? I can recall several TV programmes of the past, and the whole brands thing is so much more relaxed.
A couple of examples:
The Young Ones, in one episode (I think it's "Boring" or "Interesting") Vyvian is clearly seen with a box of Kellogs Corn Flakes, they form a big part of the episode, they even mention Ford quite a bit as well, Vyvian wins a brand new Ford Tippex (the model is clearly an established one such as a Cortina or Granada though)
Then we get onto Minder of which brands I have seen in the background &/or foreground included: Smirnoff, Walkers, Daz, Fairy, JVC, John Smith's, to name a few
Also finally Men Behaving Badly, where Stella Artois, amongst other beer brands (although not as often) were clearly seen all over the place, this was in the 90's
I wonder why now it's all become an issue when these three popular programmes constantly had brands on screen?
