The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Nicola_Red wrote:I did this morning and I actually did quite enjoy most of the show. But if we're gonna pick (and I am), my main issues were:

1. too much music (the obvious!)

2. Dave seemed quite happy to just let Sara make mistakes...like with Celeb Raspberry he could easily have said to her "we need to do clues", either on or off air, but instead he let her carry on and play a record, while every regular listener was probably shouting at the radio "what about clues?" (Or maybe that was just me ;) )

3. What was with the 15min Inbetweeners interview? Were they only allowed to be on-air for such a short time or did they finish it so quickly cos Sara couldn't cope? That seems unlikely, but if that had been Chris, I'm sure he'd have got them on earlier or something. I don't believe he would have just wrapped the interview up with no mention of how ridiculously short it had been.

4. The chemistry between them just isn't the same as with Chris. At times it seems a bit forced. But hey ho.

Hate to say it but I agree..
Was really looking forward to Sara on this week but the music is driving me potty and it feel's 'awkard' with just Dave and Sarah. I am sure if Dom, Aled and Tina were in the atmosphere would feel much better.

By gawd this has shown me again how great Chris is on the button's :)

The best way I can explain it is that when Chris and the whole team are on I feel included in the show, like it's one big conversation that I'm part of. However this morning listening to the show I felt excluded, so much whispering, giggling and in-jokes.

It's strange because I enjoyed Cox when she filled in before, in a strange way the fact she is such good mates with Freya changes the dynamic as well, as nice as it is to hear Freya.

Just goes to show, yet again, that Moyles is a master at what he does and makes it look easy.

Sara is great, but Dave is trying much too hard (hence the higher pitched, more enthusiastic-sounding voice) and I think that's putting Sara off a bit. I wish he would just relax.

Dave is also over talking her ?

Tbh ..I am losing the will to live.. it does help when Matt comes in 8O

You weren't the only one who noticed, I txt in asking what happened to the celebrity raspberry clues.
Dave seems to not know what he's doing with out Chris, although it would have been Freya's job to remind Sara to do the clues. I like Freya, but it doesn't help to have a producer running the show who has less knowledge of it than half the listeners.

swaddon1903 wrote:Maybe the Inbetweeners didn't have time to stay later

They did, about an hour into Fearne's show she mentioned them only just being allowed to leave because Radio 1 was making them say every promo under the sun.

I think Freya's problem is she isn't willing to speak on mic often enough. When Moyles is hosting, she barely says a word...it's been nice hearing her get involved alot more this week, maybe because Sara is hosting instead? I just hope when Moyles comes back she doesn't slip away off-mic again :(

I'm pretty sure it is Peter Dickson, due to Freya's reaction when today's caller said that was her alternative guess.

I agree with the criticism but I have still enjoyed the shows this week. The only uncomfortable part for me is the opening link when it's just Dave and Sara. As others have said, Dave is trying far too hard and he is making it sound a bit forced.

As the show progresses I like it far more and Freya has been great. Like English Bob, I hope we hear more of her again when Moyles is back. As Freya was Sara's previous producer they are are clearly good mates and I would have preferred it if it had been Sara on her own with Freya chipping in as and when, much like Sara does with Becky when filling in for Scott Mills.

It hasn't been perfect, but I've enjoyed the week so far.

But the X Factor is a reality show.

Really enjoying the shows with Sara this week. There is a different dynamic than when it was Sara and the whole team, but its still an enjoyable listen and so much easier to listen to than last week. Maybe its just me but the pair are getting funnier as the week goes on. Harrison Ford link and the CPC beef farmer gaff have been the highlights of the week so far.

Bit worried that it's going to be Edinburgh overload for the next couple of days...

I've been listening to really old Ricky Gervais shows from XFM in 2003 to replace the lack of Moyes and I'm enjoying these more than anything on the show recently it pains me to say. Think it'll be hard to get back in to listening to Chris & team. This is why Chris shouldn't take time off!

I'll never understand why people like Cox, she annoys me to no end... especially when she tries to be funny. In fact, I'd put Cotton above her and that's saying something. I did listen to the show this morning and lasted about 10 minutes before I resorted to BBC 1.

I love Sara, but I can also understand why a lot of people would find her irritating. Personally I enjoy all the family anecdotes and the girlie trivia, but I bet for a lot of people it gets old very quickly.

Some of them shows are pure quality. If it wasn't for them shows, the world would never have known about the genius that is Karl Pilkington.

The confusion over her anecdote about her boobs and her kids this morning really made me laugh.

Even if there is too much music, even if there are mistakes in how the show is executed, even if the rapport between dave and sara isn't always amazing..at least it isn't another bloody week of scott 'it's my producer's birthday on friday' mills who - for the 6:30 - 8am slots last week - seemed to be stuck playing the record about a show in edinburgh. seriously - i don't think they managed an entire link without a reference.

harrowing.

can't wait for chris to come back.

Vitty only feels comfortable with his owner around making allowances for his complete absence of personality.

If he has to mix with other people he's lost. Like someone said he sounds like a scared little schoolboy.

The guy is a complete non-entity without his master there to look after him tbh.

Sat and today are up
