This is a song that has almost been ruined by sport, but when Bryn Terfel recorded it in a faithful fashion the dreadful Gerry and the Pacemakers version pales into the insignificance it truly deserves, and its just a beautiful song again.

Gonna go with my first thought as soon as I read the GH title. Issue is that it's not really a song as such but more a theme tune: Going for gold

Unfortunately its the Henry Kelly thing.

Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. The best sports theme ever & i don't even like motor racing that much.
