A huge "oh no" for me.

David Croft was responsible for the many pairs of boxers I ruined while watching Allo Allo, what he wrote was hilarious and made many of my weekends at home :(

England fast bowler Graham Dilley, who was instrumental in England's Ashes series win in 1981 (yes, Botham did have help...), has died aged 52 after a "short illness". No details as to what the illness was, and Worcester Warriors rugby captain Chris Pennell, who is Dilley's son has "declined to comment" - oh no.

Yes. But "declined to comment" kind of makes you wonder if it wasn't a good relationship, although of course it doesn't necessarily follow. Either way, Dilley was a great bowler, plagued by injuries after a not very long playing career really, and whatever he died from 52 is TOO young.

RIP Steve Jobs. I always thought Apples were overpriced nonsense, but fair play to the man. He helped found a bit of a cult.

That one threw me this morning when I heard Dom announce it. And then laugh when Dom said "we want to know what you think, text us" and I thought "yeah, probably mainly from iPhones"

Says it all for what an influence Apple have had in the last few years. And not just that of course because Apple have been around longer than I have. Okay, so they weren't always the fashionable option but they've become that again. Interestingly the good, bad, good pattern matches up with Jobs founding, leaving and returning.

So yes, as a computer geek, genuine oh no from me.

I'm not an Apple user (although since playing with it I covet my friend Rhodri's iPad...) but you can't deny the importance of the Corporation - and unusually for such a huge operation, Steve Jobs WAS the Corporation, in a very personal way it always seemed to me. Certainly there are a lot of people saying that his personal touch was what kept the ideas and innovations racing ahead - maybe the recent iPhone launch underlines that, I don't know enough about the products to be able to tell. But it all boils down to him having been a very important person.

RIP Steve Jobs, and Oh No.

Indeed. I don't own any Apple products but I wouldn't ever deny that the man changed the world with his vision and innovations. All the cliches have already been said this morning, but still - RIP.

RIP Steve

I'm not the biggest fan of Apple, but the inventions he helped push through have forced the other companies to make better products.

I have to admit though, my first thought was the Iphone 4S must have pushed him over the edge.

When the original Iphone came out it was a massive advance in technology and Apple where years ahead of the competiton, but this latest incarnation of the Iphone is playing catch up. There are no functions on the new iphone that dont already exist in the competition

I find it really sad that he's died. As a lot of people have been saying, he was Apple. He liked to have a say over everything, even down to the smallest details. Just to think what the world would be like if he wasn't in it, I imagine we'd all be way behind where we are now in terms of technology. Even with competitors products, they've been driven to be better to try and compete with Apple's. We all knew this day was going to come, I just didn't realise it'd be so soon.

If you own a smart phone - regardless of whether or not it's an iPhone one - it's vastly different to what it would be like if it weren't for Steve Jobs.

That's very true. He had so much more to do with the technology industry as a whole, not just Apple. He took ideas that were already out there and improved them vastly. Look at the iPad; Microsoft had been trying for years to push tablets for the enterprise and had failed miserably. The iPad comes out and immediately it's a success. I sound like a brainwashed fool but I really think he had an incredible amount of influence on both Apple's and its competitors' products.

Chris' tribute to Steve Jobs is now in the sound vault if anyone would like to hear it again (in special occasions).
