BBC interview with Villas Boas wrote:"If it was 0-0 maybe Ashley is a little bit more mentally in control of the situation and doesn't do the red card foul that you mention," he said.

So - 1) It should have been a red card, even his own manager is in no doubt of that - and 2) The Chelsea manager thinks that refs should make allowances for players being in a losing position and accept that when you are down, you are allowed to lose control mentally and commit red card fouls?

I am going to assume that this quote is the result of a language anomaly and that Villas-Boas didn't mean what he actually said. I hope that's the case anyway, I quite like him.

Yeah, I thought that made no sense!

If the ref had got it right then they wouldnt be losing and cAshley would have been in a better mood!

There we are then. City eventually get that result over United. I suppose it was inevitable after the amount of money they've been spending over the last few years. yes, they were unbelievable today but all they've done over the last few years is just plough money into a new team year after year, until they have now eventually got it right.

We lost to Sheffield Wednesday. Kendra is happy, I suppose that helps....actually it doesn't.

Saw the City - United game. Right up until the sending off it could have been a whole different thing, but I have never seen a team so clinically, ruthlessly go about demolishing a ten-man arrangement as City did. Very impressive. I said from the start that I think this Premiership season is a two horse race between City and United. Haven't changed my mind yet.

Well my mum's happy and her partner came back from watching the QPR v Chelsea match at the pub with the Chelsea-supporting landlord as pissed as a fart.

So gutted. Had all 8 Champions League matches correct on my coupon (including the 2 draws!) and my other team was Leeds. Useless fuds.

I do like Leeds for some reason but was gutted when Blackpool went down last season, would have rather they stayed up than Blackburn, so it's nice to see them win by so much, would also be nice to see them back in the Premier League next year, I've missed Holloway's great after match interviews, always fun to listen to.

I am sad too but only because Mr Yudster is sad. Thankfully though he is not one to allow his life and mood to be influenced by football to any great degree, however staunch a supporter he is.

Manual Almunia is back on the bench 8O

Apparently Flappihandski's knee injury has ruled him out for a while & Mannone has been put down for being a useless gimp.

Still we got through with a game to spare thankfully :)

Can't believe a year ago Almunia was ahead of Szczesny*. Ridiculous!

*It's sad how proud I am of being able to spell that off by heart.
