I said on another thread that I liked the Buzz Off feature and got a bit excited, as I thought he was going to bring it back only to say he isn't but instead do Classical Class! I really hope this is not going to go on until Christmas because I just feel that part of the show feels empty without a proper feature whether it is Buzz Off, String Ring, Where Am I? or Celebrity Raspberry and as much as I am not a fan of the last one, I would rather have it than this especially if it is going to be the same track 5 times a week. Maybe I am overreacting a little but just would have preferred something better than what we got.

Feel free to agree or disagree.

You're not over-reacting a little, you're over-reacting and over-analyzing massively.

To be honest, I find it difficult to get quite as upset about it as you seem to.

I'd say so, yes.

THEY TRIED TO BRING BACK VIADUCT BEFORE AND IT DIDN'T * WORK! I loved Viaduct when it was on, but get a grip, they've already tried it.

I disagree. Maybe getting 'excited' is a bit of an over-reaction, but in the context of a fan site, analysing the show's features is perfectly normal and I'd say expected.

Well, it's not like I lie awake at night worrying about Classical Class or whether they might bring back Viaduct, y'know? But there's no hiding that I devote a lot of time to this site, so in that context I'm happy to consider and post what I like/dislike about the show.

So you're basically agreeing with me ;)

Oh, I'm somewhere in the middle I think. Sitting on the fence :)

Oh i agree the timing for it would be wrong. I'd like tho see it back though maybe for one show a week, maybe with a boys vs girls theme in seasons, like the pub quiz seasons.

The features you're bringing back dont have any listener participation at all, and while i think you do need something in that time slot, my personal opinion is that it needs something new, and something that listeners can get involved with.

In my opinion the less listener participation there is the better.

They're generally over-exciteable, awkward or just plain dull.

The overwhelming majority of callers during celebrity raspberry were dreadful.

I'd say listener participation makes up a huge chunk of the show. Whether it be a random text that leads onto an entire link, people texting in stupid, funny suggestions when asked a question. While i'd say the show doesn't 'rely' on listener interaction, it does make for some of the best bits on the show

I like the music they play but I'm not sure it constitutes a 'feature', or that it needs to be referred to by a name, especially one as silly as Classical Class. Its just the same chat going on over a different piece of background music.

I like it though because it always makes me think of that last scene in Oceans 11, which then makes me think of Matt Damon and George Clooney, which makes me happy.

Sure I might take things a bit seriously sometimes on here but it is just how I am and I know you and Yudster aren't big fans of mine judging from some of the replies I get from both of you.

I don't mind classical music and that but people have said on here that this would probably be better with different music each day as opposed to the same one and thus gets tedious. Like I might have over-reacted a bit over McFlyday but I've dealt with it but heck it is better than having to listen to the god awfulness that is Today FM that have Jar of Hearts and that bloody Florence & The Machine song 3 times during the night when I am working.

I have on a few occasions deleted posts that I've been about to, erm, post, but I bear you no malice. Whatever I say, I say it in the spirit of honesty and frankness - it's not intended to denigrate.

Isn't a take on 'Classical Gas'? I thought it was clever name whatever the feature.

I thought it was too. For almost all of 2006 I was doing a long commute and as soon as I heard it today it immediately took me back to being on that hellish early morning coach.

What about, at the very least, something different each day on Classical Class? Or is that just a bit too Radio 4? I suppose playing classical music of any kind in the first place is not really target audience...

Next week play Hokus Pocus by Focus. Then the next week play something else from another genre. Shake it up. People are trying to wake up.

I think that's a tremendous idea.

It's absolutely target audience and its' absolutely the kind of thing that the BBC is supposed to do.

Providing a more rounded appreciation of music in all it's forms and playing something a lot of the audience will never have heard, or only ever heard as the back drop to an advert should be a no-brainer.

Sat and today are up
