The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Did anyone actually make it to the end of Dave's pathetic video? I managed perhaps 20 seconds so presumably it was just the same for the remaining 70 seconds or so?

Dave is quite an arse these days.

What's with the 'Dave is an arse' comments? I can't say I've noticed any difference in him. He doesn't come across as being moody or arse-like to me, and he still makes me laugh most mornings. I loved his inappropriate 'maybe you're just human' (as opposed to gay) comment to Aled last week, and him making up a completely non-existent catchphrase for yesterday's CPC. I thought his video was classic Dave, he came up with just the sort of thing I'd expect from him. I'd actually have been disappointed if he'd put as much effort and technical trickery into it as Aled and Chris did, because then that just wouldn't be Dave!

Even after actually having a kid, Dave still doesn't want to spend £3.50 on a few bags of sweeties for the kiddies on Halloween. Mardy git!

I don't spend anything on it, just turn off all the lights and pretend I'm not in. Keeps those pesky kids away from my front door every year!

I have.

Me too. Sometimes I even put a sign on my door telling Trick or Treaters not to knock. Thankfully on Monday we actually weren't in, but if we had been, I still wouldn't encourage such a tacky Americanisation of what we now seem to have to call a 'holiday' - its not a bloody holiday, its just a DAY!

I don't mind it if it's young kids, but when we got back from the shops on Monday, there were two kids walking round, one on the phone to his friend... didn't even get off to say 'trick or treat'!

Is Halloween a big deal for anyone anymore? Unless there's a party going on, I don't think so.

Trick or Treating seemed almost non-existent this year!

We don't get trick or treaters around these parts but instead bloody firecrackers/bangers going off constantly and was a right pain in the ass with hearing them from the front and back of the house. I would rather have kids ringing the door trick-or-treating than that constant crap scaring the hell out of me when it is so unexpected any day.

I wouldn't go that far, but he has been a bit more miserable lately and frequently doesn't seem to care about the show. He has his personal/financial issues to contend with and just seems to see the show as his bread and butter and nothing more. I could be wrong though.

But it's not only Dave who is like that. Chris comes across the same as well on a lot of occasions. Sometimes I really don't like listening to the opening link when all the pair of them do is pretty much say that they don't want to be there, are knackered and want to be in bed.

Tina, Dom and Aled at least try to make the most of the situation, but Dave and Chris quite often just wallow in their tiredness and apathy.

Then again though he does still write the tedious and the carpark catchphrase every day which must be a bit of an effort so he can't completely not care.

But that is his job. He is paid to do that. I take your point though, and the stuff he writes for CPC is consistently superb. I just think that during the opening link Dave and Chris frequently give the impression of wanting to be anywhere but in the studio.

I quite like the fact that they moan about being tired and wish they were in bed because it makes me feel smug that I am still in bed at that time! I can completely relate to what they're saying, as I usually have a sense of dread just thinking about trying to overcome my tiredness in order to get through the day ahead, so it's nice to hear that other people feel exactly the same as me despite having far more exciting and well paid jobs. Have you ever listened to Dave doing the Moan-In on Richard Bacon's show? He's always quality listening on there, that's when his moaning skills really come into their own.

I have heard Dave once on Bacon's showand it was ok. I do like Dave's generally grumpy mood and the fact he comes across as a pessimist, but I just dont want to think that he doesnt want to be on a show that I love listening to so much.

When I have an early morning start and know I will be able to listen to the opening link on the way to work, or when I am actually there, I use the show as motivation and it softens the blow for me, so when I hear them moaning about tiredness and wanting to be in bed it makes me wonder why I look forward to something they seemingly dont want to be doing.

If you're right and the opening link is a bit of a slog for them then they should really just go back to playing the cheesy outtro which is uplifting. But many here would probably not want that. They're just warming up mostly, but every now and again you get a great start to the show.

Not even as a child 8O

So every Halloween you would stand at the front window dressed as formally as possible to show your disapproval.

Laughing at all these kids who are going to have sore stomachs in the morning and possibly the need for some emergency dental treatment.

Asking yourself 'who would want to celebrate such a thing, when not participating and missing out on shit loads of sweets seems like a much more enjoyable way to spend my evening'.

Your right Ilovematt, get it right up them and there celebratory ways.

Maybe he had sweets in his house and laughed at all those poor beggars walking the streets scavenging for a handful of cheap supermarket own brand sweets and a few 20p pieces...

Sat and today are up
