Cancelled due to unprecedented apathy.
Poor Dave. I sort of feel for him, it must suck to have such a poor turnout. It may reflect the sales of the book, but if the book sales are strong, it may also reflect the fact that Dave was banned from mentioning the book and signings on the show. Chris managed to at least get some oblique references (maybe more) to his book signings on the show.
Dave clearly hates this place because 3 people may have dropped in some comments mentioning him in either a positive, neutral or curious manner.
He really needs to get over himself. If you appear on a show when you talk about yourself (to some degree), do not be surprised when people might be interested in your life when you are off the air. If you don't want to be in the public eye, stay behind the scenes.
I bought the hardback editions of both of Chris' books on day one, but have no interest in Dave's book as he has made it clear he did not want it to be autobiographical, so I'm not at all surprised in the lack of interest. Why on earth "cash in" on your "celebrity" status and then not want include anything autobiographical. What is the book about? I read the first dozen or so pages on the Amazon site and the introduction included several pages about how hard it was to write a book (skipped, that's clearly filler) and then some brief biographical info. What else is in there?
Is it rehashed stuff he wrote for the show?
If it included a lot of material about R1, Chris, the show and maybe a little about his marriages (nothing salacious), I'd buy it. The reason these celeb books (mostly biographies) are so popular, is that people are interested in their lives. If you don't share that, it's far less likely people will be interested.
