Just to manage my arthritis better. At the moment I'm taking a lot of painkillers and having a lot of side effects, so my aim is to plan ahead, try to minimise my drug intake, and just generally feel less like a sack of crap than I have done recently.

New Year's Resolutions are stupid. If there's something you want to do, it shouldn't take an unimportant event to make you want to do it.

I've been asked this so much this week I've come up with a rehearsed answer:

Yes. I have six.
1) Be a vegetarian
2) Be bothered to get a drink or go to the toilet when I need to in the middle of the night.
3) Not to procrastinate as much.
4) Not to eat in lessons.
5) Go and see Noah and the Whale again.
6) Go and see Mamas Gun again.

And I haven't failed to keep any of them as of yet.

1) Dont be daft - Bacon rules. Human race didn't get to where it is by eating leaves.
2) Yes, do, its not good for bladder to hold onto it.
3) Good, too much'll send you blind.
4) Ensure hearty breakfast then or concentration will wilt.
5) Ben likes Whales too.
6) Incest isn't big or clever (out of East Anglia).

Good work, John. PM me if you need any help - I went veggie when I was 16 and still living at home.

I think you're right. No sweary's needed eh?

Who'd have thunk it ?

*Edit, you know what? I was going to make a comment about you showing your bangers to a blossoming vegetarian but thought best not for fear of condemnation. Go me and my milky tears*

I hated being vegetarian, but then I was only that because of a taste issue. When my tastes buds finally changed to the point I enjoyed meat it was a good day.

But good luck with going the other way anyway.

Oh God, please let's not have debates about vegetarianism going in two separate threads!

No probs. It's a great time to go veggie - so many good alternatives readily available. When I first went veggie I was practically exisiting on Linda McCartney sausages, which had just started being sold in supermarkets, and baked potatoes :)

I'm no veggie, but Linda McCartney sausages are brilliant! Do they still make them?
