The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Given that there is only a handful of people who actually DO regularly post on here, it does make you wonder where the * the other 8 million are...

It does, but I sort of feel like the fact that not all the show's fans post here is not necessarily a bad thing. I like the fact that we're a relatively small group.

Nisha wrote:When I signed up I knew I would only post on here if I had something to say and that's what I've done. Before the Ideas thread I never once posted in the General section, so if I don't have anything exciting to add then I don't think I should post just for the sake of posting!

I agree with you that there's no point posting for the sake of it. But we have threads in General on almost every guest and feature on the show - why do you think you so rarely have something to say about any of them? I'm not being facetious by the way, I'm genuinely curious.

I agree Nicola, its better to have a small group that an large group. If too many people are around people's opinions and voices will be lost in the crowd.

Not to mention if you didn't view the forum for a few days you would have one hell of a load of posts to catch up on.

I like it that there are only a relatively small amount of us here. I think it has to be said though, that the overwhelming majority of people who listen to the show are simply that. They are listeners, and not fans.

There must be very few people out there who do their very best to listen to pretty much every minute of every show, whether it is live or on Iplayer, and who are then prepared to to discuss it on a message board.

I do have understanding for what Nisha says about only posting when she feels she has something interesting to say, but a dozen posts? I have made comparatively few posts bearing in mind how long I have been registered here, but even I can find stuff to comment on.

...wait, I'm here, I got here as quick as I could

OK very far from someone who posts regularly but I do listen to every minute of the talk part of the show since I listen with the iPlayer and can pause it when I need to.

I enjoy the conversation, and the small community of regular posters on here.

As I said, Nisha contributed an idea to the thread which Aled and the team liked - and Aled said the people who contributed good ideas would get a reward, was no reflection on how valuable a member to the forum you were as to whether you were invited or not.

Well you did have a wee run of posts, got to the team meeting, then bugger all. Nada. Hee-Haw

Aye, what Nic said.
...well kinda, not so sure about the no point posting for the sake of it. This would make DTJ obsolete and I don't want that. I like the guy.

Nisha wrote:I don't think the number of posts has to always correlate with how much of a fan you are - 12 posts shouldn't have to mean I'm less of a fan than someone who has 100s of posts.

Yes. Yes it does. Are you not aware of the forum theorem?
Number of Members - Number of non-posters / Number of posts (General - Ramble) x Number of times you have used an expletive = Your forum number.
Mine is 84,269. Which as well know means I am the best.

Nisha wrote:I still listen to the show every day, iPlayer the bits I miss and read this forum :)

Bravo. I rarely listen to the show and never read this forum but buck up your ideas missy and make more of an effort.

Course you do love. Course you do.

I, on the other hand, love nothing more than watching my post count swell to that of bmstinton93's testicle proportions.

Yeah, I remember the days when my post count waaaay exceeded Bens.

but I do maintain I only ever post insightful, informative and essential musings.
#455802
Mine has taken a good old leap since my Tedious Links became forum posts instead of news articles :)
#455803
In the old days on here people used to be obsessed with post counts, it was ridiculous.
