Afternoon everyone.

Me neither. Nice to know i'm not the only one with a tiny wang!

This also explains Yuddles statement - obsessed with girth, that girl. 8O

Nicola_Red wrote:Having never really heard of Joey Barton before his little spree of slagging off Moyles on Twitter a few weeks ago, I was surprised by how he came across on screen. I was expecting a typical dumb footballer, but he was pretty articulate. Did the other people who watched it agree?

He's a very arrogant individual, who revels in being in the spotlight. He had a few off the field issues with alcohol and rage - then went into rehab. Came out of it best friends with Morrisey, and quoting Nitchze (sp?) and many other philosophers believing that he had the answers to all of societies great dilemmas. He loves self publicity and promotion - the reason that most other footballers wouldn't speak on the issue is most likely because it's so easy to be misinterpreted, and a lot of players don't enjoy the freedom of speech as an employee that Barton does with QPR and their management.

edit. He'll have known that there would have been a large proportion of 'non-football fans' watching the documentary out of curiosity - it's the perfect opportunity to raise his standing in the general public.

Chrys has got it pretty bang on. I think he's trying so hard to come across well given how much of a twat he was known as before. I doubt he'll ever fully dispel his 'badboy' image but I can't fault him for trying to.

As someone who goes to a lot of the matches and has heard some horrible abuse on the terraces (including one Arsenal fan at the Man City game hoping that Nasri's Mum died 8O ) any footballer that came out would be subject to 90 minutes of "fag" and "bender" chants at every game they went to, sadly this is just how football fans are & I;ve grown to realise what muggy arseholes football fans can be.

The reason Gavin Thomas came out is because he plays Rugby & the fans are no where near as ignorant as football ones thankfully.

It's a shame that the minority of football fans cast such a vast shadow over the nice ones. When I was at Aberdeen Celtic last season I heard a shout of "Scott Brown, your personal hygiene is questionable!" I don't think it's all bad.

See now that would make me laugh if I heard that, I could imagine that being said in a Bertie Wooster style accent.

Having said that, I enjoyed last year's FA cup match at Old Trafford where 5,000 away fans were all chanting 'Evra you're a *, Evra, Evra you're a *'. Abusing players you dislike is kind of fun...

Yeah it is, especially if they deserve it because they're a horrible bugger (although Evra didn't deserve the racism), like with Nasri, he deserves it because he is, well, a * for how he behaved but wishing his mum dead does go a bit far.

Let's be fair though, he is. And not for his part in the Suarez incident, I feel a bit bad for him after Suarez was found guilty - but that aside he's a knob.

Sounds like a plan to me. I've always wondered this: why can't they just decide which is the best team, then stop?

Another option would be what I posted on YouTube at one point. Only allow women to watch football matches:

Sorted.

Or alternatively why can't we keep football and everybody be as gay as they like?

With respect, you prat! :D

Why don't we just decide which tattoo is best and all have that....?! :?

Replace the goalposts with scented candles and the whole team in hot-pants?! Can't see it working.

Oh, I know. If I had any inkling you were serious I'd have used a stronger term than 'prat'. :)

Haha, I was worried that the context hadn't come over at all then :) I do find football highly tedious, but its existence only troubles me when I have to try to get a tram home with crowds full of shouting, singing Man U fans. I do find the racism, sexism and homophobia that seems to exist therein worrying, but y'know, what can ya do.
