How does he not like pandas? He said on the show he likes all animals except humans.

It's not that he doesnt like Pandas, He just thinks they should be allowed to become extinct without intervention.

He seems to dislike human interference into nature but take an extreme view of that. So while he thinks we shouldn't be destroying habitats / killing for food (I assume he must be vegan?), it sounds like he's also against conservation efforts because it is human interference in the natural world? Perhaps we should all go back to living in caves and doing what we have always done naturally... oh wait, that includes killing and eating meat.
#458192
Ahem. I think you mean Giant Pandas. There are other kinds too.
#458196
They do but it is apparently lost on some.

Nah, I don't think he's a vegan. I know my people.

Booo, I was half-hoping for an argument from you on another point in that post.
#458206
Which one? I thought you were right, although I personally can't bring myself to care that much about pandas.

But I don't disagree with you, man was originally designed to eat meat. We've just evolved beyond that. But if you want to give up your modern life and live like a caveman, go right ahead, I won't stop you!
#458231
We haven't evolved beyond that - we have the means to have a diet that doesn't contain things which are primarily found in meats, but meat remains the simplest way of getting large quantities of protein and iron into a diet (not that I'm saying that it's wrong not to eat meat - just that it's not a matter of evolution).
#458232
Yeah, what I meant is we've developed a lifestyle that no longer relies on meat as the main or only food source. Give me a break, it's early :)

Ah, but that suggests that vegetarianism is an evolutionary step, when it's not - it's a personal preference that has been made because we have the intelligence to do so - intelligence is in part due to having the better developed brains that comes from eating meat.

Alright then Toph, you win, if it makes you feel better. I can't be bothered with arguments about this stuff regardless of the time of day to be honest. If you honestly believe that it's making you more intelligent, eat raw kitten that you've strangled with your bare hands for all I care. It literally makes no difference to me.
#458247
Even I wouldn't eat raw kitten. I'd barbecue it at least.
#458249
And that's fair enough. The only level on which I care about what any of you put into your bodies is that I would rather none of you ingest something poisonous and die. Beyond that, it's none of my business. Much like what I put into mine is none of yours.

I had a wee moan about innuendos before, but you really do set them up perfectly Nic!

I was so close to adding something myself there, but seeing as I've told other people off for wandering off topic with endless rubbish innuendo, I resisted ;)
