The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues
#458190
Hello everyone,

I've had ownership of the unofficial Chris Moyles Facebook page (not to be confused with The Chris Moyles Show page) for a couple years now. I don't know if it would be of any interest to anyone, but I thought I would post Facebook Insight statistics about the fans of the page, demographics and location etc.

I've attached the raw data exported from Facebook to this post in .xls format, but have also posted some screenshots below as Facebook has some nice graphs which shows the information.

To be fair, he's not pretending to BE Chris, he's just running a fanpage on facebook. The page admin view on facebook will put the name of your page in the top corner, replacing the usual name.

And from the page admin view of facebook, it shows every new person who likes a page with the same graphic as the normal facebook view of friend request.

Also, Facebook limits you to 5,000 'friends'.

I can confirm that. I'm not pretending to be Chris and he recently created his own official fan page. He hasn't posted since October last year however.

There are disclaimers on the page and also posted a link to his official page. It's a nice hobby! My hope was that he would take over the page in it's current format, but he has his own now.

He did. He went a bit social media mad last Autumn, launching a YouTube channel as well and probably some other things.

I believe gender is not a mandatory field to fill out when signing up. Although given that, I'm surprised more aren't undetermined.

I once saw a group complaining that facebook 'harasses' people by asking them to state their gender. As Toph said, it's not mandatory, but they do tell you that it will make your profile 'confusing' if you don't pick one or the other. However, there are genderqueer people who identify as neither male nor female and I s'pose they should have an option.

the more targeted they can make their advertising, the more they can charge for it - so it's in facebook's financial interest for users to have a completed profile.

But the Super Rabbits - who would they know how to hump?

Oh of course, they're all about the money-making, whatever they might say the reason is. But they should probably acknowledge that some people don't identify as either. Although I s'pose they might be now, it's four years since I registered.
