It's that time of year again. Any ideas on what will be in store?
"Think big" that could mean anything?

Also, on the off chance someone from the team reads this I'd like to wish Mr Moyles a happy 24th
You bring me and millions of others joy every morning (or afternoon as i'm a lazy degenerate.)

Here's to the future

My alarm is set for 6.25 in the morning. It will be the first time I have heard the show from the start live in ages.

I'm no good at getting up that early. Hence why I listen back in the afternoon.
But i want to hear this is as live. So I'm considering an all nighter.
If i can stay up for all of the Marathon show, this should be a walk in the park ...

It's so forking early. I never get up at this time! There's nothing live on the web video streaming action, so I'm guessing nothing visual until 8am when the red button telly coverage goes live.

Everyone is in suits. Singing with Michael Bubble?

Watching Chris walk in on the orchestra was extremely emotional :)

I hate gushing like a teenage girl about things but I am a huge fan of Chris and the show and they help me through good times and bad so it's good to see something like this for him

Watching / Listening now and liking it so far! Not sure how much longer I'm going to be able to keep watching though. Definitely a listen again affair I think.

It's been amazing so far, well done to Aled and everyone whos been working on this.

I may have dreamed this, but I'm sure the topic of an Orchestra playing the Star Wars theme has come up before? It may have a different show, or indeed a completely different type of media , but someone at one point has definitely discussed this .. :D

It started brilliantly but has gone downhill rapidly, that's my opinion though.

My musical tastes are not exactly Radio 1 playlist. Great for the demographic.

i'm confused. Annoyed peed off.

confused. Chris's birthday aint till wednesday.
Annoyed. No announcement was made about anything being done early.
Peed off. Even my oback up plan of looking on freeview channel 301 for the red button. It doesn't even have the feed on it.

So as a result. I woke up at 8:55 and missed 75% of the birthday show.

Agreed, its just the usual suspects, the orchestra was good with the Star Wars theme, but predictable after that, the overrated 1 direction and JLS and his fellow R1 DJ pals, boring!!!

They mentioned lots of times last week that the birthday show was on Monday because there'd be so much Brits stuff in Wednesday's show...

I'm not giving up on one great big surprise to finish...

Adele with orchestra would be wonderful.

I do not understand why they are doing this today either.

It was said that the red button started at 8 am, so that is when I tuned in.

The band are the best bit. The rest is boring.

And how much is this costing us the licence payer ??? ;)

Apart from the orchestra reveal, it's been a bit bland this year, just the usual suspects. Just surprised Olly Murs wasn't there since they talk about him on the show at least once or twice a week.

Just having the BBC freakin' Concert orchestra there makes it better than all of the previous birthday show combined. Great stuff.

I sometimes wonder if the reason the listeners don't rave about the birthday show is because its organised purely to appeal to Chris - they seem to forget that its also a radio show with an audience who actually have a bigger claim to being entertained than the bloody presenter.

Personally I enjoyed it. Yeah, not a lot happened but the orchestra was great and it still had the same feel as just a normal great Chris Moyles Show.

Agree, it seems just an ego boost for Chris. I for one, found it very boring.

We still have the Wednesday birthday yet to come.

Worst birthday show in a long time, possibly ever. As others have said it was all 'friends of the show' (none of whom I would like to call a friend of mine) and colleagues, none of whom even did anything very interesting. Aled really wasn't joking when he revealed that he'd only said 'think big' to throw Chris off the scent because he actually meant 'think small'. It was small, very small.
