Good evening
We require some opinions on something please... we are putting the wording for our wedding invitations together and have been trying to come up with a gracious way of asking for money instead of presents. We have found the following poems and would appreciate if you would vote on them using the poll (leave comments with your opinions too, particularly if you don't like any of them).
Poem 1
Alas! Friends and family, in sin we've been living,
And if you're not yet sure what you plan on giving,
We have dozens of towels and a toaster or two,
Plenty of cutlery and glassware too.
Some memories to last for ever,
Is what these newlyweds will truly treasure.
We dream of visting faraway lands,
So come to you all, begging bowl in hand!
The gift we require needs no wrapping or tags,
But we hope it will help us to pack our bags,
And fly away on our first trip together,
A honeymoon to remember forever.
Poem 2
Our life together has already begun
And we almost have everything under the sun,
So we both thought we would make a suggestion,
To save you from all the searching and guessing,
Instead of spending lots and lots,
Just put some money with your card,
And place it into our Moneybox,
Large amounts are not anticipated,
Any amount would be appreciated,
Now that we have saved you all the fuss,
We can't wait for you to celebrate with us!
Poem 3
We know it’s not tradition
It’s not the way it’s done
But instead of a Wedding List
We’d like a bit of sun
We’ve lived together quite a while
And all the bills are paid
We’ve got our plates, our pots and pans,
Our plans have all been made,
We would appreciate your help though,
To send us on our way
A contribution to our honeymoon
In a land quite far away
But, most importantly, we request,
You come to our Wedding as our guest
To share with us our special day
And have some fun along the way
Muchas gracias.

You are a disgrace and I'm looking forward to when someone you respect dies so I can rub your liberal face in it.
