Ah brilliant! :) Though he might do. Unfortunately I'm going to be on a train with no wifi and my 3G is screwed. Hopefully Ian will clip or us.

Out of interest, why? Without wanting to sound elitist, surely it's a bit beneath the presenter of the flagship show to be a stand in for the early afternoon show? Wouldn't they normally get Dev or someone in?

Think it's very short notice as Greg only phoned in sick this morning and I'm guessing Chris is hanging around anyway so offered to do it. And he always says about how he never gets to see Scott.

Should be interesting! I was listening to R1 yesterday afternoon when Sara was waiting for Dev to arrive and cover Hew which got me to thinking about other people they would have to cover, leading to me thinking of Moyles doing a cover show - I don't think I've heard Chris host on his own before so could be good.

How much music is actually going to get played. I am tuning in to listen.

I'm onboard! It is worrying that he has played more music already than in the first hour of the breakfast show!

They have to make up across the schedule for the songs that Chris doesn't play in the breakfast show.

Yep, too much music being played for my liking! Will probably just listen to the edited version.

Some of the songs are played several times throughout the day so I don't fully get that.

there isnt going to be alot of "material" because its so last minute , but Chris is a natural in front of a desk so it makes for great listening.
He's already slagged off 3 tracks i think :D

Chris's breakfast show is one side of Chris the radio presenter. He is also absolutely second to none at playing playlist music and making it sound better than it is, and also making you laugh a lot in between. I wouldn't want the breakfast show to sound like this, but I love hearing this version of Moyles too, it underlines just how good he is that even thought this isn't what he does, he still does it better than anyone else at R1. Or anywhere else.

And the Best Dev impression I think Eva!
What a pleasant surprise.
Ego Moyles first feature " How many DJ's got the call before me"
Followed by "Ten to Two, what you gonna do" "go for a dump"
Class!

He did say on air this morning when Fearne mentioned Greg was ill that 'he'd do it' although I never for a second thought he actually would.

Dev I think is at uni during the day at the moment, Huw Stephens was working away over the weekend and presume Sara couldn't do it

He is adapting very well. Remember its Greg's show. So its Greg's format Chris will follow. I'm sure sled may help out with this. But Greg will have a set number of songs to play. Chris won't have as many songs when he does breakfast. Chris following Greg's format will probably be the brief Chris was given when agreeing to the cover.

And of course he's working with a totally different production team which will push him out of his comfort zone a bit.

I'm enjoying it, nice surprise for my day off when there's nothing on TV. I'll clip it as soon as I get chance if Ian doesn't get there before me - not sure what time of day afternoon shows appear on the iplayer.
