He doesn't drive a Land Rover though, just to clarify. It's an S-type Jag.

Yeah, cheers Tim.

it's just his initials - JAS - and some numbers, I forget what they are. I don't pay a lot of attention to car-related things.

Doesn't seem vulgar to me. If it was something engineered to stand out more than a typical number plate (the owner of Pink Punters, a local gay club in MK has 'BI GAY' on it, and my cousin has his shortened name 'JO JAY') then i'd probably think it to be more objectionable. Why not personalise a significant purchase?

Edit

Mine could be J122FAN

That doesn't work as a legal plate, dipn-schtickn. Your'n is good tho. J122POT, J122MAN or J122GUY kinda work too... Sommat to look into Bodger...

I'd like E115 ELN (making up my wee-Gals name) on my motor, but its already taken. Humph.

What? The old fashioned - Letter. 3 Numbers. 3 Letters is no longer permitted by the DVLA? Even though the J122 one is allowed?

Shame.

But didn't you just say that people who have them are nobs?

No, that was Yuds, but I get how you might confuse us two.... What with me being young and nice, and her, well....

the 'big nob' suggestion I made in respect of your old man was to counter your post about 'not thinking of him that way' when Toph mentioned lacking in a certain dept.

Perhaps we should just have one 'show-related moan of the week' thread.

I never said people with personalised plates are nobs did I? Just to clarify, I do think they (the plates) are tacky and seeing them does give me a certain impression about the owner - but that doesn't mean they ARE nobs. Just that they seem to me to be nobs.

I think I'd better give this spade back...

Two friends of mine had personalised number plates & I'm not sure why as both of them are quite shy girls & hate attention, one of them no longer has a personalised number plate however and said she can't remember why she got it originally and put it down to her been in her early 20's at the time, not sure if the other friend still has hers as I haven't seen her for about 2-3 years.

I did see one today that read: W8 KER, says a lot about him.
