was I the only one that saw that punchline coming from the very start?
it was funny in places, but the whole build-up was that a million Dobra isnt a lot of Pounds.. why waste such a big chunk of the show on this ?

poor show.

I think everyone saw it coming they just aren't going to give anything of value away to the team. It was a bit drawn out and tedious with pretty simple questions.

If they were going to do this feature surely when Chris was going on the show would of made sense. I don't see what's so great about the Million Pound Drop format anyway (or course it's made worse on TV by having Davina McCall host it).

Although saying all that it was preferable to having another guest in.

I reckon Dave got a bit tired of it too. At one point halfway through you heard him mutter, "Its only about four quid anyway."

I missed the build up to this and tuned in a question or two in I think, and I haven't as yet listened back to the show, but it seemed a bit drawn out to me. It was obvious that it was only going to be worth a couple of quid. Was that supposed to be in doubt?

I think if it had been done a bit (a lot) quicker than it would have been decent enough, but it went on for too long. Tedious link was dropped again for this wasn't it?

It might be better tomorrow with different contestants and sped up a bit.

Is it just me or has there been a total quiz overload lately?

I like Rob DJ's Monday night quiz, it's always been a good feature I look forward to it on a Tuesday morning. But there seems to be a quiz at least every other day now and some of them don't half go on a bit. Million Droba drop was a nice idea but felt a bit dragged out today and as mentioned in the other topic, seemed to be a big set up to an obvious punchline.

Would be nice so hear some more imaginative features rather than just answering questions.
After all, answering questions is for squares and geeks... and square geeks!

Great thread title :)

Yes quizzes and 'games day' are thrown together ideas, but long may chris's impression of Tarrant continue, its just brilliant.

Normally the strengths lie in parodying everything and anything, but since MPD isn't my cup of tea I'd have to agree with you.

I hope the ideas generator they had with the audience texting in was productive and the hols should serve as a much needed pause, an MOT if you like.

Still enjoying it on the whole, just a few tweaks will do.

Yep, I always clip the games/quizzes and there's been one almost every day recently.

I think it was an ok quiz but I think the questions should have been based around the rest of the team and the show itself.

I hate being a day behind on the show - threads like this making no sense. Damn my need to earn money. Grrr.

The show definitely needs a holiday. It's sounding dire at the moment to me, as if they're all just marking time until their break starts. For example, apart from filling up some time, what the hell was that the point of that 'quiz' today, which featured the voices of bunch of people most listeners have never heard of, and by the sounds of things a lot of the team hadn't heard of either! It was completely pointless and boring, much like the Dobra Drop from yesterday. I bet that Dave could have invented a game just as pointless as both of those, but which was ten times more entertaining on the spot if asked to.

If the OP thinks the moaning here is bad now, they better hang on to their hat for when (with a 99% certainty of this happening) Olly Murs replaces Dave next week. I fear I may need to give the whole week a miss if this does prove to be the case.

Have you ever thought this website might not be for you?

No not really, as I have been listening to Chris and Dave since the year they moved to afternoons, and have rarely missed a show. I think that qualifies me an avid and long time listener who is allowed to have an opinion on the current state of the show as I see it. But perhaps there is some kind of test I need to take before I'm allowed to express my opinion here? I'll consult my forum rule book on it, and may I ask how long have you been listening for and the average amount of minutes of each show you hear per day, so that I can check said book to see if you qualify to post on this site?

You must find daily life very disappointing if you think that any kind of negativity is such a bad thing.

I don't always agree with Emmy but I agree with this.

Yeah, I thought it was really odd that they did it again when it's clearly a 45min feature with one very obvious punchline.

Kind of shows that they haven't got many ideas going at the moment and just want to fill the shows with content until the holidays hit. I haven't listened to the 2nd one yet but the 1st one was way too long, which pretty much reflects what you get by watching the actual show.

I am gonna clip the second one cos I pretty much always clip the games and quizzes, even if they haven't been the most entertaining thing ever.

It was clearly a weak feature but it was entertaining on occasion, however there's nothing worse than a feature that the team get bored of halfway through. I agree with the points above about probably being of better use before Chris went on MPD and maybe questions about the team. The team are allowed to get one feature wrong every now and then, I really didn't mind listening to it anyway. It's still the best show on the radio. :D
