Coo, someone has fed the girbils that power the 4od servers, has only taken 16 minutes to run the 90 seconds of adverts before my programme! This is how TV should be.... :?

I like rodents. Baby Yudster's hamster is the cutest. Although he sleeps at night and plays all day - I think we broke him.

"show us ya Rat" *snigger*

Sounds best when shouted from a building site to an unassuming professional lady type... :?

4OD always seems to work ok for me on my laptop. I don't have particularly amazing broadband speeds either. The ads load as expected, then the program just starts.

What browser are you all using? I'm using Chrome..

I've also had problems with this recently, when I went to catch up on some episodes of Hollyoaks. I ended up watching about 12 adverts before I got through one episode!

YouTube FTW.

I usually watch Channel 4 programmes on YouTube instead of using their own site. But I don't watch Channel 4 that much anyway.

14 minutes and counting.... Still not managed to get the Ads to run yet, so we could be looking at a good one here...

4od = shite waste of time. why, oh why, oh why can they not get this sorted?!

EDIT: Just tested connecting, running 34Mb download rate at present. As usual BBC iPlayer able to run multiple programmes all at once (got 4 going as I type) yet I cannot get 4od to even start a programme. Shocking service 4od.

You know, when I identify a particular supplier as being poor and inefficient, I stop using them.

But there is no alternative supplier. It's not like switching your phone from Orange to 3. If you wanna watch Channel 4 shows online, you've got no other (legal) choices.

You could get a Sky+ box. Yes, I know its expensive, but it is an alternative. But all I'm saying (to Tim) really is that is you know its crap, stop going on about it being crap - you already SAID its crap, why are you so surprised when it is crap, when you already know its CRAP???!

4OD on Youtube is a viable and more stable alternative. The same amount of adverts, but more reliable. I don't usually have many problems with 4OD.

Mm, that's very true. I guess if you don't know a show's on until you've missed it, you can't sky+ it.

Sky+ are going to be getting the iPlayer available on their boxes soon, and Channel 4 will no doubt follow suit.

Alternatively Netflix or LoveFilm at £6 a month, which can be streamed through Consoles, Laptops and Tablets/Phones.

Some fiar points raised. I do have sky+, but being a good father/partner I don't use it to record anything for me apart from the bikes on Eurosport - leave the available memory for the girls to use. Yuds is correct, I shouldn't keep moaning about it, as i already know its crap. But, as Nic points out, if I wanna catch up on missed 4 output, I have no choice (4od on youtube not showing up to date programmes). I just find it shockingly horrific that they can supply such a pi$$ poor service.

I shall try to keep my frustrations on this subject to myself. Soz peeps.

I'd have a major problem with paying for anything Sky-related. I don't think the quality of service you get justifies what you'd pay for it. It's the same with the Sky F1 HD channel(Which is the only thing I've ever really watched on Sky).

Don't apologise at all. You are posting your gripes about 4OD in a 4OD thread. You carry on!
