Ha! That never occured to me. I was wondering if Chris would say anything about his dislike of Chris Brown, but he just quickly moved on.

She has no obligation to answer those questions though, unless they're in the public interest (or of significance to her supporters).

I agree, but as I said, it was the way she handled it that I thought was poor. I've heard plenty of people who have, perfectly politely, said they didn't want to answer a question, and I respect that more than unnecessarily evasive way she handled it.

I haven't heard the interview yet but I dislike celebrities saying the "no comment" thing. Just make a joke about it and move on. Like David Tenannt about his private life. He was able to make a joke about his sex life but couldn't say "things are good" when asked how married life is? Ridiculous. But then, I do hate that smug asshole.

Really his sex life is nothing to do with you or anybody else though. It's the same as anybody's sex life, if you aren't involved in it then it's nothing to do with you. People are perfectly within their rights to say 'no comment', I don't see the problem.

Read again - he made a joke about the sex question but didn't want to answer the question "so, how is married life".

The same points apply to married life. Some people don't like to bring their personal stuff into the public domain if it's not relevant to their career - take Chris and his split from Sophie for example.

I think it's more the way he answered the question. Saying "good, thanks" reveals nothing and gets the question out of the way - saying "I don't want to talk about that" draws more attention to the subject and stirs up the possibility in people's minds that there could be something wrong.

I agree. What has the quality of anyones married life got to do with the public domain...?!

Yeah, potentially a simple question which could be met with a fob-off answer. But, it should be that persons choice about discussing that sorta thing.

To think less of someone for protecting their own privacy from those who have no right/need to know, is jus' silly. Sure, dislike DT, but not because he didn't want to detail his marriage to 8 million random people.

You mean David Tennant doesn't want to discuss the details of his relationship with his wife for the entertainment of millions of drooling slack-jawed morons who think they have the right to know, just because he was Doctor Who? The smug asshole!

I repeat, that's not it. He's perfectly entitled to not want to discuss any details of it whatsoever. But it's the way he dealt with the question that was the issue. I have no idea who he's married to and don't care, I've never seen Dr Who. But the fact that he made a fuss about not wanting to answer it drew my attention to it, whereas if he'd given a generic small talk answer like "good thanks", I wouldn't even remember if his marriage had been mentioned in the interview.

There's always the possibility that Chris/Aled was briefed about not touching on certain things while being interviewed - meaning DT would be right in being aggrieved? (I love David Tennant, so will be looking to stick up for him here)

I'm indifferent with DT, but still think 'his choice'... Although Nic is kinda right, a stock fob-off would probably have skirted the issue more swiftly.

According to his Wikipedia, it's well documented that Tennant doesn't talk about his personal life. It even cites an interview he did in 2009 on the matter. You would have thought the team would have done their research.

Regarding Tennant, I think the way he handled it was perfectly fine. I think saying "good, thanks" would have got a bigger reaction from Moyles that the actual answer he did give. If a celeb doesn't want to talk about something private to them they are perfectly entitled to say so very clearly. I don't think it draws any more attention to the issue at all, it just means that the person has boundaries and they are stating them.

I thought that Just Cheryl really got her sense of 'nothingness' across well this morning, as per usual. Unsurprisingly, they were all tiptoeing around her, asking nothing of more significance or interest than whether she likes chocolate and 'Ant or Dec?'. Having said that, at least she's quite inoffensive, meaning I could stomach listening to her interview, unlike those with Davina or Jimmy Carr etc.

The real achievement was how long it went on for. The team are good at just chatting with her, if the ant n dec questions were too dumbed down then that's all you can chat about with Cheryl, but it kept going past 9 and that proves she's down to earth and doesn't mind people going on about her geordie accent.

The posh spice of her day, (who was on the first ever breakfast show) so this is a good guest to come back from hols with.

What does that actually mean? Becauase you think she is similar to Victoria Beckham, who was on the phone for the first show, that makes her a good guest? Er, why?

And you think she was a good guest?

For what it's worth, I didnt mind the interview. It was bland and inoffensive and was nothing to write home about, but I suppose it served its purpose.

Excuse me, bit under the weather.

She's quite a big celeb etc. Good to have a big celeb on.

And all that.

Except that wasnt the point you made. Or it wasnt the reasoning you gave, anyway.

Never mind.

She is Cheryl Cole. Were any of you really expecting a thought provoking, fast paced interview?? She probably pre-recorded the generic answers she gave on tape and mimed.

I thought the Cheryl interview was surprisingly good too, and I'd go along with the theory that Chris has a knack of bringing her out of her shell - she's definitely been more animated when speaking to him than any other times I've heard/seen her speak(which isn't that hard).

Her reaction to being asked about Simon was the juicy bit, and I would've loved for Chris to press her harder about it than he did because the reaction was pretty interesting. Pretty unnecessary too. The only way it would be understandable to any extent would be if, like Dannii, she's had a relationship with Simon in the past.
