The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Maybe its just good having the team back on, but is anybody else noticeing the shows this week and last sounding much fresher than prior to Easter?

Tulisa week is probably fair to say, was a mixed bag at best, but the past couple of weeks seem to have some great features pretty much every day. Off the top of my head theres been the links on Sony awards/Betty and Beryl, Danny O donoghue, Daves birthday pub quiz, Dom's weather bashing, Daves bailiffs, and the people of Salisbury getting wet for the Queen. After Somerset boy, 'Dont call me baldy is probably the next best parody the team have made.

Anybody else noticeing a change?

You could land a role as a judge on The Voice with that sort of comment. They seem to be big fans of unrelenting and sometimes unwarranted positivity.

Leaving aside the guests, which I have moaned about elsewhere, I do agree that they show has been sounding a lot better since the break. The new parody is great, I'm enjoying the general banter and chat, and to my ears there's an overall sense of renewed energy and drive within the team. They're back on form.

Yep I am in agreement they are sounding so much fresher.

The jokes this morning are worthy of a big fat LOL.

I wouldn't have called over an hour of primary school jokes fresh to be honest. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the show this morning, that's just not the word I'd use to describe it!

I'm still on Tuesdays show in the car, so will reserve judgement. Bound to be good tho. Easily pleased, me.

The show this morning was pretty damn funny it's got to be said. And a lot of the jokes were so bad that most DJs wouldn't have gotten away with them, but Chris has an ability to make jokes like that sound much funnier than they actually are, and part of the amusement(for me at least) was the fact he kept bombarding Aled with them.

Keith Lemon was pretty funny too. He kept coming out with random and witty comments, which gave Chris plenty to respond to.

But yeah, the show has definitely had a new energy since everyone came back from holiday, which is great to hear.

I agree - the show has been sounding fantastic since they came back from holiday. Not that it sounded bad before, but I do think that week with Tulisa was poor (not that that was their fault). She came across as miserable and uncooperative and clearly didn't 'get' the show or the sense of humour. She obviously hadn't heard the show much before and had practically no knowledge of the team or the features.

She's precisely the kind of person that the team were talking about this morning - the type of listener that texts in to say "No no guys Star Wars day is May the 4th not May the 3rd" without realising that they were joking in the first place.

Since they came back, however, there have been several mornings when I've thought 'that was a great show'. The Danny off of The Voice interivew is a great example, that was awesome (also a good example of someone that gets the show - he'd even read Chris's first book). The Morgana handover was hilarious, I loved the chat about local radio newsreaders and how awful they are, and the link about DJ sets the other day involving Dom & Aled was interesting too.

I often find the best links are the unplanned ones, where there is no guest, no feature, just them chatting. It happened this morning when Keith Lemon was running late, they suddenly had some air time to fill and they ended up chatting about Aled's date with Mollie and how mental women are - it was hilarious. Also loved all the bad jokes that were texted in which came as a result of the Star Wars conversation. Again, unplanned but brilliant radio.

Weirdly the weakest thing that I've heard since they came back was the Cheryl Cole interview. Again, not their fault, hers. She sounded totally uninterested and was a really dull and guarded guest.

I agree with most of you, but I find myself inexplicably being annoyed at Dave. Especially since I noticed that you can hear him 'slamming' his hand on the desk during interviews and links. And now I always notice it.....

But yeah, I'm loving the show and am very glad they are back.
