You can tell a lot from a persons post count. An insight into how often someone feels compelled to share their thoughts and views of the world on an internet forum.
On an internet forum where most people (in general) will have at least one thing in common with you and in theory will hopefully invest a few seconds of their time to see what you have posted.

The higher the number, the greater the need for that persons want to be heard.
The more frequent the postings, the more desperate for acknowledgement and acceptance of their postings.
High but infrequent postings, someone who doesn't want to invest too much of their time to the site/forum but doesn't want to be forgotten by the on-line community.

Then there is my post count.

It's Estonian for stupid.

* Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or perhaps "the higher the number, the more Tedious Links they transcribe."

Posts per day says more... I have let mine slip, but I think that says more about the quality of the rest of you and your posts in the last 12 months!

My post count is pretty low since I registered here at the time of the marathon Comic Relief show and visited the site a few more times after that, then forgot about it(That happens a lot with me) and didn't post for over a year before remembering about these forums and that I had an account on them.
Now back and being regular(ish), so my number of posts will probably soon become more representative of the amount of time I've been registered on here. Or something.

I have the highest post count here... but only by a smidgen and it looks like Yudster will overtake me soon, get posting Yudster! Thing is, mine have been made over the course of a long time (since 2002 I believe), whereas you lot are all posting a lot more than me.

The post count in itself means very little. What is more relevant is the posts per day and where they were made. Those stats tell you far more about the poster and why they are here.

I average 0.39 posts per day and 86.70% are in the General section.

Toph will recall that back in the early days of this forum, people were obsessed with their post count. They'd create threads to announce that they were reaching a certain number and boast about having higher numbers than others. The threads all still exist - they're baffling.

On a Reading Festival Forum (the music festival, not the literacy one) when people bragged about their post count or celebrated reaching a number the mod would cut the number down by 50%

Hahaha, the only way I know how to do that is by manually deleting individual posts, which sounds like more faff than it's worth. It would be funny though.

I am purely spouting pish above. The ramblings of a mid-afternoon drunk. A long drawn out post that would meander aimlessly leading to a stupendous punchline.

It all came about cause I noticed my count was at 1010 and it amused me, in that if I there were another 1 at the end it would resemble (very poorly) lolol.

Whilst perusing Twitter at the same time, Qikepedia tweeted that loll was Estonian for stupid.
1011 (again very poorly) resembles loll.

My next post would take me to 1011.

Ergo 1011 = Estonian for stupid. Ergo Stupendous punchline :?.

Race!! Race!! Race!! Race!! (As opposed to fight)

Actually if you look at the other thread Yudster has been catching you up for a long time, but only very slowly, so if you increase your posting rate a bit you should be able to stay ahead. There's even a post from you back in August 2010 saying she'd be ahead of you soon... Hasn't happened yet :P

Edit: I take too much interest in this stuff.

That couldn't have been any more Glaswegian if you had a bottle of buckie in one hand and a Rangers/Celtic scarf in the other!

I think I remember that, people used to do them quite often back then, I was on here under a different name for a short while, forgot I had registered & re-registered again, silly arse.

I haven't a clue on my post count, however I don't visit here liek I used to, not sure why, probably because I'm out more often than I'm in these days thankfully :)
