The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Apparantely the people in charge of the olympic torch ceremony thing said that Chris MOyles wasn't allowed to carry the torch on to the stage on saturday and they wanted Fearne Cotton to carry it instead. Why would they do that? Bit bizarre. Chris seems a bit upset about it,even slagging off the olympic games a bit. They seem to have ruined the whole weekend for him!

On Saturday afternoon's show, he said clearly that the original plan had been for the soundclash winner to carry it, but the torch people (whoever decides these things) had specified that they only wanted Fearne to do it. It isn't speculation.

That's awful.

Well its a bit of a slap in the face. But its not exactly awful, not in the great scheme of things. Put it this way - if that was the worst thing that happened to him at the weekend, he had a pretty good weekend.

Yuds, you are right as it could have been worse. No one from the Olympic torch organization said anything publicly about not wanting Chris to bring the torch on stage, also Chris and Fearne didn't get injured that day (or anything between these two possibilities). It would be good if the team got to hold the torch on one of their remote broadcasts for the torch relay, but I think the chances of that is slim.

But why are the authorities favouring Fearne over Chris? Is it because she won a sony gold? It's almost as if they're saying Fearne is the no 1 DJ on Radio One,but she's not. It's Chris! As long as he's doing the breakfast show anyway. It's a slap in the face to Chris and I don't think he should take it lying down!

In fairness to chrisjames, Nic said what he posted was true so it's a valid thread on this forum really.

Oh I know but it was where he was getting all worked up about how they're saying that Fearne is the number one DJ.

I'm gonna guess it's something to do with them making fun of the lighting ceremony.

I've not had a look, but I'm guessing the words 'undeserved', 'fat', 'loudmouth' and 'talentless' are being frequently used? As he said himself on air, he and the team have raised millions for charity, so if anyone deserves to run with the Olympic torch, then he does.
