What exactly is so complicated about the Olympic Games that kids need a special explanation? I don't think I had any difficulties understanding the concept and the events when I was a kid, and today's children have a far broader spectrum of experience and understanding than I ever did.

Mind you, Dave always makes me laugh when he is doing anything aimed at kids - his voice and manner go all creepy and pervy and I can imagine him with a bag of toffees outside the school gates...

Ha - not at all. Remember the occasions when he and the rest of the team have read children's stories on the show for various reasons? Dave is hilarious, he sounds exactly like the person you warn your kids not to talk to. I assumed it was deliberate though, unlike some I credit Dave with the ability to play most things for laughs.
