Hmmmm.... How do I interpret this??

Ok, the first concert I attended as a spectator (not performer):

(although not this specific gig on vid)

I also pondered over how to interpret the topic.

My first live musical experience or actual concert.

Went with the former -

Ultrasonic - Love Me Right

Sorry. I'm REALLY sorry. The Corrs - Dreams.

My original idea was for the first gig you'd attended rather than played, but I don't think there are any rules set in stone.

Anyway, my choice is Idlewild - American English. The album it's from, The Remote Part, remains one of my favourites albums ever. Saw them in Aberdeen when I was 14 with my Mum! Yes, I'm that cool.

I saw Black Sabbath twice in the late seventies (believe it or not I was still only about 13 at the time...) - this one was a fixture. Paranoid.

I think I'm coming out of this one pretty well, compared with a lot of you!

I'll admit, only 'cos I love ya, that as soon as I saw that you had posted in the 'first concert' thread - I smiled as the mind instantly assumed this'll be some 30's swing or summat...

Not quite - I was an early teenager in the mid to late seventies, not the era between the wars!

Mine will have to be Dirty Love by Thunder. Preston Polytechnic (as it was then), 1989. Ah, memories.

Won't be everyone's cuppa tea, but my available choice for this GHG is: Korn Shoots and Ladders

Saw them in the Barrowlands mid 90's, and of course the start of the song got the crowd going...

chrysostom wrote:Mine's Stan by Eminem at the MK Bowl. It began to rain as it started, still in my top 3 gigs of all time.

I was there too - Green Day were better though. I can't claim it to be my first gig though, so I'll have to admit mine was Britney (Wembley Arena, seated quite far back - bloke next to us had binoculars though). Baby One More Time, though, I still maintain is a great pop record.

My first proper gig, if you don't schlepping round watching local bands, was at the Ulster Hall in Belfast in '79 where these guys were in their pomp.

Still the best ever gig i went to. 8)
And one of Bon's last.

Poll is up, as I've said this is the last game I'm going to run, thanks to all for playing it and for English Bob for letting me have it a couple of years ago when it was originally discontinued. If someone wants to take it over then they should make themselves known and this weeks winner can PM them the theme.

I'm off to Kenya on Thursday but when I'm back in a few week I hope to come back as a 'proper' member of the forums again.
