The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I thought there was plenty of life left in CPC as well. I never got bored of it in the slightest, other than when contestants were kept on too long. Chris just got bored of it though in my opinion. I cant think of any other reason for him taking it in the direction he did. I have a feeling that even if it was R1 who wanted it dropped that Chris wouldn't have minded too much.

I like the Pub Quiz too. I thought the musical thing they have added to it wouldnt work, but that is quite good as well. Unlike guessing the Golden Hour year, I nearly always get all of the artists every week! The only thing I would change about the quiz is that it goes on too long. Why they all need to say what number question it is every time I dont know.

Would I stop listening if this format continues? not sure, I don't want to but with this more music and less feature format I may not stop altogether but my listening time may be greatly reduced.

My listening habits are already changing mainly due to the Hackney overload I listen at work but not instead of live more and more I listen to the 6:30 link in the car the rest of the show on iPlayer later in the day and sad to say the amount of stuff I'm skipping is more than I ever thought I would.

Big Boss Ben is obviously making a move (he was on Feedback on R4 last week talking about average age etc.) the show is changing and not for the better. If the need to go younger is so pressing I'd rather they made a complete fresh start with someone else than try and see out the rest of the contract with show turning into a shadow of it's former self.

I have less than 2 months until I'm officially out of target and the way it's going I won't be dragging the average age up much longer! I do hope Chris doesn't (when the time comes) ditch radio completely in favour of TV and that I can follow him to another station.

That's the main reason why I felt that CPC had gone downhill because of the fact certain contestants were on for days or weeks at a time and most of them were dull as hell because I used to enjoy CPC quite a bit up until this problem occurred more often than not. Pretty much knew it was on its way out (for the time being?) when Nick was on for 6-7 weeks and half the time, they didn't bother playting the game hence the reason why he was on for so long. Just glad they didn't get rid of Roy Walker altogether!

I've enjoyed the older CPC scenarios in comparison in the older shows mainly because some of the contestants were thick as all hell and just found it hilarious when Chris cut them off or when they were laughing at how stupid the contestants were. Plus a fresh batch every day rather than having people on for 2 weeks whereas they became boring to listen to after the 1st week.

I also like the music round in the pub quiz but I do agree it goes on for too long sometimes. Didn't seem that way in earlier years.

I'm hoping that after the olympics and the hackney thing dies down, it will come back with some fresh ideas. Those 2 things have been taking up a large portion of the show and are very tiresome. The olympic torch thing is mind numbingly dull, so makes me turn over straight away!

Has anything else noticed that Chris seems to have, and seemingly quite deliberately, gone back to saying 'podcast' rather than 'free download'?
#467493
Oh did they? I stopped listening to the podcasts when I started downloading full shows. But I did hear a few recently and it reminded me that they do have bits and bats in them that the show doesn't, so I should probably start again.

I still think they should have gone with my suggestion of "the Jeff" though.

Yeah, Aled tweeted about a new app available to download them or something! Probably getting less downloads because of the change hence they've gone back to podcast! Whose idea was it to change it in the first place I wonder?

I think every time anyone complains about any aspect of changes to the show, we should just post that pic.

Things have been getting dramatic over the last few days with regards to how people feel about the show. It's been missing pictures.

(I should add, I'm not overly happy about the drop in quality of the show, but not significantly disgruntled. I just like wasting time at work).

Are you a fan of Taken, Chrysostom? Love that film.

I think Maggie Grace looks far hotter in it that she ever did in Lost. I'm a fan of the dark hair.

I was listening today to the show from the 20th of June (I'm always behind) and I swear I thought about starting a thread asking if they play more music.

I haven't been on the CM Show bandwaggon very long but I've noticed the changes and I don't really listen to the whole show anymore. It's just dragging along and for some reasons Chris' rants bug me more nowadays than before.

Agree with other who said that they will stop listening to the show if it continues with it. It's not a form of protest, I just don't see the appeal anymore. Or in Daves words: "Yawn, no one cares".

I'm finding myself listening to a lot less of the show now. Up until a few months ago I would religiously listen again later on in the evening to all of the show that I hadn't heard in the morning. Nowadays I only tend to listen to the first hour(due to the blissful lack of autotuned crap) but even that is being gradually being dumbed down from the Chris Moyles show I love.

...the really weird thing is, I'm in the background of that photo. Drinking tea from a white cup.

(Yes, I've come out of a long-time lurk just for that pointless nugget).

If I am honest I have been an avid listener since the Afternoon days..

The show is becoming a little tedious of late and always used to listen again on the iplayer, I have now started recording on Sky+ and easier to forward which now seems to be 80% of the show...

The whole dynamics of the show has changed and the for the worse, it is a shame, perhaps Moyles should start his own station for subscribers.. freedom to do what he likes without the chiefs at the Beeb trying to tell us what we want...
