I've just realised Grimmy taking over rules out the possibility t hat Chris could have swapped with Greg on drivetime.I don't think he'll want to do the 10pm-midnight slot! I suppose Huw Stephens will get that ,which means someone taking over the weekend lunchtime show. Maybe Tom Deacon?

Also I wonder if this will provoke wider changes on the station involving some of the older DJs like Sara Cox?

It would be great if Chris had his own station but it would mean all the money he has made being plouged into it and its a lot of hard work so I can't see it happening.

Nah - Greg has only just taken over afternoons - he'll probably get it after Grimshaw. I thought Grimshaw, he's been steadily climbing the Radio 1 ladder since he joined. I'm not a huge fan but I like him better than I did.

It's got pretty much all the breakfast show but as you go further back (Afternoon, early bit, saturday etc) the shows naturally become fewer and further between.

I'm actually quite pleased that Grimmy is taking the spot. I would have preferred Sara Cox or Greg, but I really enjoy listening to Grimmy when he covers for people. I wish I put my money on him a few months ago because I said that he would get the spot and none of my family would listen to me! Well done to Matt as well! I wonder what Chris (and the team?) will do now? What does everyone else think?

"Camden cool" is the in thing at the moment, what with blokes wearing stupidly tight jeans and make up etc. Grimshaw is very much the face of them and he can consider himself a very lucky man.
