No. I meant the jingle that runs through the radio 1 breakfast show history.

Oh, I thought you meant the first song ever played on R1 - which was also the first song Chris ever played on the breakfast show.

I hope the rumours for the last sho being on 21st Sept are wrong.... I'm away from 6 - 22nd September! I will have a lot of catching up to do (if the BBC keep the shows online that is!)

Would be good to have him in the evening similar to what Radcliffe did on Radio 2. Not sure what radio rules are with regards to a watershed and whatnot, but would be cool to have Chris and the team doing an "uncut2 show where they could be a bit more racy.

But then Radio 1 would have to get rid of some of the specialist shows that no one listens to, so can't see that happening.

The way I understand it is that British radio has no watershed. Because it's seen as easy media reach people of any age can listen at any time of the day. So they play it safe and just avoid Effing and Jeffing completley.

You'd think nowadays that the same would apply to TV? I've had a TV in my room since I was 13 or something....now 27.

I'm pretty sure I've heard some shows with effing and jeffing on songs - like heavy metal and rap. I could be making it up but I recall someone warning them that the song has explicit lyrics.

Listening to the show on the iPlayer and I thought he was faking everyone out and was going to announce something else at the end. I was telling my girlfriend that he has a contract to do it longer than this. :o Not a joke. I'm like Dave's friend at Peppa Pig World, I feel like crying. Plenty of serious things going on in the world but for this 45 year old, the show has been part of my life each day for over five years.

But we edit and upload them all here. You've been a member for almost three hours, have you learned NOTHING?! ;)

They might be moving, just not on the breakfast show. He's not leaving Radio 1 entirely, he's just changing shifts.

We'll have every breakfast show soon enough, I think.

Despite the show losing its edge the past couple of months (as we noticed) I'm still "shocked" at how sudden it's all over. They won't even finish the year and yes, I know about Chris and the Christ. Seems weird and as someone else posted a picture from twitter apparently Daves people didn't know about it and he pulled out of a show this afternoon - it just seems very weird to me. Hopefully we hear more about it in the next couple of months.

I think that the ending has been dealt with in the best way.. it's a lot better for them to make the decision whilst the show is still going well (reasonably, anyway) than to have it decline to a level where no one listens any more. I'm excited at the prospect of hearing how Grimmy will handle the slot, and how Fincham will do (if he does indeed stay as Grimmy's producer).

Well I didn't expect that. Not until next year anyway.

TBH the show has been dying a bit of a death recently. It's not been terrible, but not as good as it was a couple of years ago. So perhaps this is the right time to end it.

I get the impression that between now and September the show will return to its best, as Chris makes the most of his last few shows. Here's hoping anyway.

Ideally I'd like Chris to get a gig at R2, or any of the other BBC stations. I can't stand commercials and have been listening to R2 after the CMS for a while now anyway and have got used to it. If he got a show there with a well-chosen completely new team and musical freedom that would be fantastic.

Like many others here, that's the end of R1 for me now. No more Cotton. No more inane "Good Mornings." Grimshaw is crap imo so I have no interest in even finding out how the new morning show goes. Does anyone know any good radio morning shows, at all?

Anyway, thanks to Chris for many happy mornings of listening and all the laughs. All the best for the future mate.

Yeah, I am. I can't wait for work to end so I can get home and start to process it properly.

Just a little bit gutted. It seems absolutely ridiculous to be as gutted as I am. Ive been listening to Chris Moyles while my mum drove me to school, on the train to college, and now while Im at university. The only constant thing in my life has been listening everyday and Ive grown up while the team have. I get it, hes not dead but its the end of an era and as Dave says, we dont like change. I knew it was coming but I always expected another two years at least, not just over two months. I have nothing against Nick Grimshaw at all but hes just another of the presenters with no opinions and views at the risk of being reprimanded, never one to go off on one as Chris does.

I look forward to hear what they have planned for the next few months, hopefully bringing back old features and old friends of the show. Will be a nice change in comparison to the cluttered shows at the moment with the olympic torch following which is just boring and the Hackney Weekend highlights, although I dont mind them so much as I was lucky enough to go both days.

Just thought I'd come and give my two cents as im usually a lurker, I just didnt realise how gutted I was going to be!

I often just browse on here but had to register to express my feelings. I am totally and utterly gutted about this, Chris Moyles and his various teams\shows have been a massive part of my life since 99/00, I almost feel like they are family, even more so since I started driving for a living 5 years ago so got to listen to the whole show every day. There is nothing that comes anywhere near the show on the airwaves, I will probably have to start buying audio books again to listen to during 6.30 to 10 everyday. I wish them all the best and should they move to another station (please please please not commercial radio) then I will follow them and listen no matter what time of day they are on. Legends all of them who have ever been involved with any show that Chris has ever done.

On another note, Matt Fincham will be back on breakfast radio 8O
