The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I think it would need about 15 people or more to be worth doing. If I get sufficient interest I shall PM the interested parties.

I think it would be nice if people hand wrote their tributes, but if they wanted to just type them I could print 'em off.

I know some people who were online earlier have logged off now so I'll wait til tomorrow and then see whether I think there's enough interest. I'm hoping there will be!

So.

The time has finally come, quicker than we thought. There are just weeks of the breakfast show remaining, and I'd like to suggest that as a forum we compile/give something personal to Chris and the team.

So use the thread as a sounding board - my idea was for each member to write a few words about the what the show meant to them and compile them into a book? (feel free to shoot it down!)

It would be a shame if Chris and the team finished the show without really knowing how much they mean to us.

-- I think that this is a brilliant and really sweet idea =]

I haven't been on here for an age, although do check in and read up from time to time. I'd love to contribute to something we can give the team, this show has seen me through some dark times and often was the only time I'd smile in a day.

Let me know what sort of thing you'd like and when you'd like it and I'm on.

It looks like we do have enough interest, so I'll PM everyone with the details, check your PMs either later this evening or tomorrow :)

I was just thinking about this again. I do really like the idea of handwritten tributes, and will admit that as the very sad person I am I've kept all the handwritten cards from appreciative parents and the end of terms drawings with 'writing' such as 'mi and teechr' I've received from various little kiddies over the years as part of my job, and so I'm sure that the team would also appreciate the personal nature of the tributes to them being handwritten. But if at all possible I for one would love to be able to read what others write about what the show has meant to them over the years (providing people didn't have any objections to this of course), and this would obviously be far easier to do if they were typed. I'm happy to go along with whatever, but just thought I'd put it out there.

I think you're right Chris. I may print out some of the posts in that thread to include too.

Emmy, with regard to others being able to see the tributes, I've already talked to Andy (Chrysostom) about the possibility of being able to produce a printed version to give to the people who contributed. But that would turn into an expensive endeavour, so I'm working on the original first and then we'll see.

I'll make sure I scan in any handwritten material we get. I would like to handwrite my own contribution so I'm hoping others will too.
