I seem to remember that Dave mentions in his book that that was vetoed after he clocked Will round the head with a AA battery and a can of Stella :D

I'd like a run of the best guests they've ever had over the last two weeks, leading up to a last ever show (possibly double length if Fearne/BBC permit), otherwise I'd be in favour of dropping the golden hour as it just eats an hour of humorous banter.

On the last show I don't want any celebrity guests other than a live lounge style McFly day performance and as others have said the previous team members.

Highly unlikely but a non-red nose day affiliated return of Rallyoake, with every show in the final week coming from up and down the country would be fun.

Mainly though I just want what I enjoy best, don't try to make it something it isn't, we all want fond memories, so maybe just more talking, less music (with the exception of jingles and parodies). I'd love to see the team make some games again like they do (in a last day of school 'games day' approach). Dave's games are always brilliantly bad.

Ah, don't worry about it. We are getting a lot of repeat suggestions at this point, which I s'pose is good in a way cos it shows that quite a few of us agree on what we want the show to include.

I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but how about a 'superfan' quiz?

A fan with an obsessive knowledge of the show plays against Chris and Dave to see who knows the most about the show. Or if the BBC are still not allowed to do quizzes with the public, then the superfan sets the questions for the team.

That is a superb suggestion.

How about the team presenting the last show barricaded inside Ben Coopers office and pretend they won't leave unless Chris is offered drivetime. As long as they make clear to Ben Cooper in advance that it's just a joke of course...

PS sorry if that was the worst idea ever. I think I might have sunstroke

Definitely no Golden Hour. Definitely a reworked opening jingle (they already did a tweaked version in 2009) and definitely the full strings to end.

Other than that, Jules, Carrie, Rachel and to a lesser extent Matt Fincham and a fairly empty running order with lots of room for banter and stuff to breathe.

No chance. The show started in grandiose fashion, and that's how it'll end.

I'd also like to see a bucketload of references to Smashie and Nicey: The End of an Era. There's been plenty in the show anyway ("Link overboard", "I've just eaten an entire packet of Toffos"), so they should just go mental with it. The programme does revolve around Smashie and Nicey's last show after all, and it seems a goldmine to parody in someway.

The whole show wasn't grandiose. The very beginning was, but after that it wasn't that big a deal.

I don't want them to over-complicate the final show. I hope most of the excellent ideas on this thread and the ideas that the team have are used in the week or two preceding the final show.

The final show wont be normal, but I'd like it to just feel like the Chris Moyles Show we have loved over the years..not something too contrived.
