Right, I tried to find somewhere to put this (and I know that lots of people may not be interested in this), but I noticed that Freya wished Beccy (she spells her name with 2 c's, not a typo) from the Scott Mills Show a speedy recovery as she's been off for quite a while now.

After venturing to Unofficial Mills, it would appear that she has Clinically Isolated Syndrome, which has the potential to progress to MS.

Very sad, and wish her all the best.

Yeah, this is a sad story. I've moved to General as it is R1 related, but left the shadow in place for now.

I knew it must be no ordinary illness given the amount of time she's been off, but I'm sorry to hear this. I hope she has a speedy recovery and gets the best treatment at this stage to minimise the chances of it progressing.
I've missed hearing her, she's made a major difference to the quality of the show.

I can only echo everyone elses sentiments in wishing her a full and speedy recovery. She is too young to have something this serious.I hope she's managing to keep her spirits up. :(

Yep. Being 'disabled' by illness when you are still relatively young is difficult to deal with, and obviously what I have is nowhere near as serious as MS.

Horrible news, the only time I've really heard her was on the marathon show, but she was very funny (innuendo bingo in particular).

I hope she can recover from this.

Any word on Becky's health?

I know she doesn't have anything to do with the Chris Moyles show and stuff but still. Any update on her health? I don't remember what was wrong but I know it wasn't nice.

Wow this is sad news indeed. I'm glad she is feeling a bit better.

I don't hear her much now that they changed the times of the show. I know she's not everyones cup of tea but I loved her enthusiasm and sense of humour. She sounded like a really nice girl on the show.

I hope she continues to do well. She is what makes Scott Mills tolerable. His friend Chris helps, but he's no Beccy (And certainly no Karl Pilkington who I'm sure he's "emulating")

My thoughts are with her as always.

Ya know what, I actually cant stand that Chris chap. Harsh I know, but I genuinely do not find him one bit funny, and for me, he has made the Scott Mills show worse. Obviously the best days (Scott, Laura and Chappers) are long gone, but I did enjoy listening to Scott when it was just him and Beccy, but now I dont find it such an easy listen.

And obviously I wish Beccy all the best with her recovery! :D

sorry to be all CJ about it, but it's just been announced that Beccy's going to be leaving the Scott Mills show (vague allusions that it was in part due to illness), but she will be working with Aled (and apparently they've got 'big things planned').

Her illness is likely to affect her on and off for the rest of her life isn't it? In which case something with a more predictable and plannable workload would seem desirable. I hope she is ok, and I hope it goes well for her.

yes i listened today its a shame beccy is leaving as she was great but health comes 1st & i had figured as much because she had for quite a few months in for maybe 1 or 2 days a week but good luck for here in future with whatever shes doing with aled

but ashamed to say i did breathe a sigh of relief when it was announced beccy was leaving because i had feared the worst when scott mills saying he had a big announcement for fans of teh show because chris moyles had a announcement in july that turned out to be disaster so just glad scott & chris are still staying

I haven't listened to today's podcast but will listen to it tomorrow. I thought she had something that prevented her from doing Innuendo Bingo anymore as she had been off sick. After she returned on air briefly I thought she had been working behind the scenes for some reason. This is awful news. I feel similar in what Nic said, it is awful to be young and have a debilitating health issue. I have chronic pain yet this is nowhere near what she has. I hope the docs can keep this under control. Sending my thoughts that this doesn't progress any further. This is sad news.

-Just heard her announcement. Surprised to hear this is affecting so many different areas of her functions. I hope the doctors can halt it from progressing any further. Scarring on the brain is bad news. I've got some scarring from a head injury and has caused seizures. It goes without saying, the brain is a delicate, yet very complex thing. I'm glad she is going to still be able to work and also work with Aled.

I see from a tweet from Aled that Beccy is appearing on the surgery this weekend to talk about being a young person with MS, so I guess her condition did develop into full-blown MS after all.
