Maybe. But if Vernon is leaving very soon, then I would imagine Radio 1 have already lined up his replacement, especially as Chris says he isn't doing any more radio this year.

A lot of people keep saying Vernon is leaving but there is no evidence.

Ben Cooper went for lunch with Chris on Friday (According to Chris' interview with Robbie Savage). Surely that is a good sign? Or a sign that he will be announcing he is leaving R1 within the next 2-3 days. I assume its being saved for next Friday's show.

I have a strong feeling he won't be back on a full time show. Would be good if he did a bit of holiday cover on afternoon/evening shows though.

The 'news' that he wouldn't be on radio this year & possibly will at the start of next year, are4 weeks old since he said this himself on Steve wrights show.

As much as I like the guy, his tv work has never been the best and I always thought he got by because of the promotion his tv work got on the radio. The moment you take that away...

Come on, at *some point* he is almost certain to host the Radio 2 breakfast show. But I dont think its going to happen for 15/20yrs.

Steve will never retire. I have no recolection of him but my dad liked him on the Radio 1 afternoon show.
He is a radio dj. Like Wogan he will not give it up quickly.

Ken Bruce followed by Chris Moyles would have me switching to Radio 2 in a flash though.
